El viernes pasado asistí a la sede principal de la Universidad de dónde formo parte de la plantilla de docentes desde finales del 2023, bastante reciente. Como les comenté en post anteriores, gane un concurso de oposición para docentes y quedé como personal fijo. Ésta visita tendría fines informativos.
Last Friday I attended the main headquarters of the University where I have been part of the teaching staff since the end of 2023, quite recently. As I mentioned in previous posts, I won a competitive examination for teachers and became permanent staff. This visit would be for informational purposes.
Ir a la universidad, fue en respuesta al llamado de la coordinadora del programa de administración del cuál formo parte como profesora en las materias expresión, lenguaje y comunicación, redacción de textos y técnicas de estudio. La universidad no tiene un sistema para atender al personal docente de manera regular, sin embargo pude plantear mis inquietudes con respecto al tema.
Going to university was in response to the call of the coordinator of the administration program of which I am a part as a teacher in the subjects of expression, language and communication, text writing and techniques study. The university does not have a system to attend to teaching staff on a regular basis, however I was able to raise my concerns regarding the issue.
El caso es que estaba algo inquieta porque ya comenzó el nuevo semestre y no tengo asignada una carga horaria, lo que es vital para mis funciones como docente. En ese sentido recibí toda la orientación posible sobre mi trabajo.
The fact is that I was a little worried because the new semester has already started and I do not have an assigned workload, which is vital for my duties as a teacher. In that sense I received all the possible guidance about my work.
Por otro lado me hacen saber la excelente noticia, de que fue aprobada mi solicitud de exoneración de pagos para cursar estudios de postgrado en la maestría de educación superior. Estos son beneficios que como personal de la universidad están dispuestos para fortalecer los niveles académicos que se requieren, para cumplir con la función docente, en mi caso.
On the other hand, they let me know the excellent news that my request for payment exemption to pursue postgraduate studies in the master's degree in higher education was approved. These are benefits that as university staff are willing to strengthen the academic levels that are required, to fulfill the teaching function, in my case.
Realmente me sentí súper contenta, porque antes de entrar a la universidad traté en varias oportunidad de hacer ésta maestría, incluso fui a las entrevistas, pero los costos no estaban dentro de mis posibilidades, por lo que no pude inscribirme de manera particular.
I really felt super happy, because before entering the university I tried on several occasions to do this master's degree, I even went to the interviews, but the costs were not within my possibilities , so I couldn't register individually.
Las universidades públicas en éste país no ofrecen un pago decente a sus trabajadores, sin embargo tener la posibilidad de hacer la maestría sin tener que pagar un Bolívar, es un gran beneficio. Por otro parte ésta universidad tiene una buenísima reputación en cuanto a postgrado.
Public universities in this country do not offer decent pay to their workers, however having the possibility of completing a master's degree without having to pay a Bolívar is a great benefit. On the other hand, this university has a very good reputation in terms of postgraduate studies.
Para mí es tan importante realizar esta formación académica, que la alegría no cabe en mi pecho. Desde ya debo cumplir con una serie de requisitos y orientaciones notificadas a través de un oficio. Debo mantener un promedio de notas durante toda la maestría, reportar mis calificaciones en cada semestre, en fin, tendré un seguimiento de cumplimiento por parte de la institución.
For me it is so important to complete this academic training that there is no room for joy in my chest. From now on I must comply with a series of requirements and guidelines notified through an official letter. I must maintain a grade average throughout the entire master's degree, report my grades each semester, in short, I will have compliance monitoring by the institution.
Para mi el trabajo docente es un compromiso, porque es algo que me apasiona y que estuve esperando por un tiempo, igualmente los estudios de postgrado. El día lunes debo acudir a la sede de post grado a la entrevista con la coordinadora del programa de educación superior, afortunadamente queda cerca de casa, lo que me facilita la asistencia 🏠.
For me, teaching is a commitment, because it is something that I am passionate about and that I have been waiting for for a while, as well as postgraduate studies. On Monday I must go to the postgraduate headquarters for the interview with the coordinator of the higher education program, fortunately it is close to home, which makes it easier for me to attend 🏠.
En mi visita a la universidad también pude obtener mi carnet como docente instructor dentro del programa de administración, ésta es la primera escala de clasificación, y tengo entendido que el próximo año debe cambiar.
During my visit to the university I was also able to obtain my card as a teaching instructor within the administration program, this is the first classification scale, and I understand that next year it should change.
Con ésta oportunidad de estudios de post grado tendré una nueva rutina de estudios, tendré una mejor preparación como docente, formaré parte de un grupo, haré nuevas amistades, seré parte de algo donde definitivamente quiero estar con todo mi corazón 🩷. Fue una visita a la universidad con resultados más que los esperados, lleno de beneficios para mí.
With this opportunity for postgraduate studies I will have a new study routine, I will have better preparation as a teacher, I will be part of a group, I will make new friends, I will be part of something where I definitely want to be with all my heart 🩷. It was a visit to the university with results more than expected, full of benefits for me.
