Beer Tasting Musa Red Zeppelin and St.Bernardus Christmas Ale

in BEER7 days ago (edited)

Hello, beer lovers! 🍻

How are you? Even though we're all about beer here in this community, you're also looking at cryptocurrency movement charts. Especially our Hive coin. Are we going to go up or down? No one knows, but we can expect positive changes based on this year's current situation and plans. After all these years, we deserve it.
Don't take this as financial advice, but stake and hold! :)

I had two bottles in the fridge, one Portuguese and one Belgian. I think it's the right moment to open them for 354 #beersaturday and, for fun, of course, share the experience with you.

Let's go!

🍻 😎 🍻

Musa Red Zeppelin - Red Session IPA

Brewed by Cerveja Musa, Lisbon, Portugal.
Bottle, 0.33 l, alcohol 5.0% ABV, IBU 35.
Red IPA or India Red Ale style is as hoppy and bitter as an American IPA but with more caramel and dark fruit malt character.

What do the Master Brewers say?

Reddish color and medium body, assertive aromas of pine, peach, and orange. Slightly dry and bitter aftertaste. With a balanced body and bitterness, it's the right choice to accompany a fine meal. Light as a blimp, it takes you wherever you want to go. Often it will be to the bathroom. Classy! Citra, Summit, Simcoe, and Centennial hops.

🍺

Yes, the bathroom is the right choice to go to.

The beer is amber in color, has a high head, and is quite persistent. It smells of hops. A sip goes down the throat smoothly, and I immediately taste bitterness, but not too much, with herbal notes, caramel, pine, and maybe a little citrus in the background.
Everything disappears quickly in the aftertaste except for a very dry bitterness that lingers.

The beer is drinkable and refreshing, and the bitterness at the beginning is pleasant and balanced, not very dominant as in regular IPAs, but only in the aftertaste. There are lots of heads that refuse to go away. Good one. I'll probably really have to go to the toilet :)
It's not available here; I got it as a gift from a friend who was in Portugal.

🍻 😎 🍻

St.Bernardus Christmas Ale

Brewed by St.Bernardus Brouwerij, Watou, West Flanders, Belgium.
Bottle, 0.33 l, alcohol 10% ABV, IBU 20.
It's a Quadrupel or Abt-style beer, usually a winter sessional. It's a dark, complex, rich, and very strong Belgian beer, a blend of malt richness, dark fruit flavors, and spicy elements.

What do the Master Brewers say?

St. Bernardus Christmas Ale is a typical winter beer. This dark beer is filled with winter cheer and feels like Christmas in a bottle: warm, cozy, and really inviting to enjoy together with friends or family. St. Bernardus Christmas Ale takes on a splendid dark-brown color that is topped off with a cream-colored layer of froth. It's an intensely dark beer with a full yet slightly fruity flavor, overflowing with the tastes of winter and zesty seasonal aromas. Aniseed notes are complemented by hints of creamy caramel and fire-roasted chestnuts and a magnificent finish of dries fruit and chocolate. It's your "Heavenly Nectar Within Reach"!

🍺

Huh, this is dangerous beer, 10% ABV, I need to be careful ...

The beer is dark brown, almost black. The head is solid, persistent, and very creamy. It smells of dried fruit. The first sip goes down the throat carefully, mainly because of the high alcohol content. But, surprise, you don't feel it at all (it probably comes later...). Sweetness and aniseed first develop in the mouth, followed by caramel, raisins, and chestnuts. Slightly spicy.
Only in the aftertaste does the bitterness of coffee and dark chocolate develop and linger for a while; everything else disappears.

This is a great winter beer. It has a very complex combination of flavors I have not tried before, such as aniseed and chestnut. There is no alcoholic taste, which is essential, at least for me, because it indicates a top-quality beer. It is very suitable for drinking as a dessert, with a really good pastry.
I wouldn't recommend drinking more than a couple of these, though, as the consequences would probably be drastic :)

I'm pleased because I ordered six beers from the Slovenian beer shop Pivoljub.si a couple of days ago. The owner called me a couple of days later because he didn't have one beer left and put another one in my box. This beer was a bonus, though.

🍻 😎 🍻

When tasting beers and writing this, I listen to something from my Fridays #newtunes. A few days ago, an extraordinary and very influential director, David Lynch, died. He was also a musician, and I am listening to his album.

OMG Belgian's brewery likes the high alcoholic beers! Once I tried one with 16% alcoholic, but very tasty 😋

Yes, they have a lot of them with high alcohol content. But the true mastery of brewing is evident in the fact that you don't feel it at all.😎🍻

These two look way more interesting than most others. Good choice this time!

Thank you. Because they are very different, maybe I should choose that option. What do I know? It's just for fun. There is monetization, but it takes more effort than just a template. Cheers!

Go for the ones you like :))
