I was sitting at the kitchen table one evening, looking at the tulips that I had brought in several days ago, thinking I need to toss them soon. Most of the time people seem to display tulips only for the time the petals are still almost closed, to a point that I don’t think tulips are even allowed to properly bloom.

When I have cut flowers, I like to let them go through the whole process from a bud to full bloom and then dropping all the petals or drying.

I guess what I’m saying is I like to watch flowers wither and die.

These two tulips were at the end of their rope and once I touched them, most of the petals finally dropped, but not before they gave me this final gift of photogenic beauty.
