Well this is nuts. I've been a fan of Beeple for years now. He's pretty famous in the circles I tend to hang out in. His claim to fame is that's he's released a piece of artwork everyday for over 13 years now. He's been a trailblazer in the concept of "everydays" or creating something everyday that a lot of people jumped onto. I've had spurts where I tried my hand at it as well, but the longest I ever managed was one month. I did make significant progress in that month though.
So recently Beeple decided to jump into the crypto space with his first drop on Nifty Gateway where he debuted onto the scene with a 6 figure drop. I'd imagine with something like that it's pretty easy to get hooked on the space and this time around it looks like they planned for the swarm of buyers that an artist like Beeple generates.
This time around he released 3 open editions where however many editions of these pieces were bought were minted, BUT it only lasted for five minutes.
As you can see he sold a total of 601 editions at $969.00 a piece which totals to a whopping $582,369!!! W...T...F...
Not to mention he released a series of single editions as well that are ranging in bids from $6,666k to $80k for the whole collection.
One of the reasons I think this is really significant is because there is this huge pool of incredibly talented and skilled artists that up until now have only really been able to monetize their work by doing work for clients. I'm referring to digital artists. Some of the most talented artists in the world work exclusively or almost exclusively digitally and they generally end up working in various entertainment or advertising markets. They are typically not making the kind of money Beeple just made. These are people that are the best in the world at something, but the vast majority of them are just working class people. This opens the door for the "rockstar" digital artist, and it looks like Beeple is going to be leading the charge.

Exciting times indeed. I knew since 2016 the digital art/cryptocurrency combo would be a game changer. Kind of proud to be one of the first in the world to find success doing it (yes I'm aware I run far underground and nobody noticed). Would have meant more if the value of this account didn't plummet into oblivion, probably. A few of us here could have been making headlines like this years ago. Months ago they were downvoting us over something like 50 bucks saying it was worthless. Now there's half a million in no time, all kinds of attention. Hopefully this platform can enjoy some of this productivity in the future.

$582,369 in 5 minutes would probably be the biggest sale in history of NFT !! Hopefully our @nftshowroom also creates lot of buzz and brings value to this chain.
That's some leet work! Reminds me of garbage patch kids cards. Which coincidentally sold well on Blockchain not long ago too.
I wonder who's appetite it satisfied. A while ago I read about dark sadistic art popular with high society and some artists getting commissioned to produce exclusive work only for elites.
This work here is not so dark but makes one wonder. Some of it certainly seems to target Hellwood.
Well he didn't actually make any of this art to sell. This is all just his personal work that until now he's just done for self promotion/self improvement. He just has a HUGE backlog of work since he's been producing everyday for 13 years.
I hope he sold all his crypto before it drops to zero ... or at least converts to Bitcoin.
