Beer blogging came naturally to me due to years spent brewing for myself, working with breweries on their technology & marketing, and the decades spent imbibing. Hence, the self-decreed title of the #Blockchain #Beerologist and I have cranked up my Beerology game this year as breweries are back in full swing.

This week, I am gifted a milkshake and find a strange Hazy IPA.

Pint AND Shorty of the Week!

Usually, you either get the tasty little pint I have in the fridge, or the fresh draft out on the town. This week is special because you get both!

These babies are from one of my favourite local breweries, Jobsite Brewing https://www.jobsitebrewing.ca/ I visited the brewery for a business meeting with management and then a colleague afterward. The pint is a lighter cold IPA I cannot recall the name of or find trace of on the website. Apparently exclusive enough for me and the rest of the folks blessed enough to visit the taproom. The shorty is the original gangsta Impact IPA which I remember enjoying the week they opened.

When this blockchain and blog become the talk of the globe, well more so, Jobsite will be on my guided beer tour.

Cherry Milkshake

I haven't featured a Muskoka Brewery https://muskokabrewery.com/ in quite a while. I am not even sure I would have picked this one up but my better half did when she was snagging some radlers and fruity beer. I asked her if she meant to pick up a 6% ABV Milkshake IPA and it was decided I might better enjoy it.

I couldn't blame her for picking up Black Raspberry Thunder https://muskokabrewery.com/beer/black-raspberry-thunder/ as it is an ice-cream flavour from one of our favourite cottage dairies Kawartha Dairy https://kawarthadairy.com/ founded in 1937 towards the end of the great depression. That's some hoser history for you.

The beer itself was quite bold and actually enjoyable for a cherry flavoured, lactose/milkshake IPA. It had delicious little floaties that may offend the beer purists. I just can't hate this when the single hop is Mosaic and it is creamy and fruity enough to be what a milkshake IPA should be. Even better in my Belgian wheat beer fancy glass beside the hot tub.

Rhythm & Brews

I was a little underwhelmed by the label design on this beer from a brewery I had never heard of before. https://www.rhythmandbrews.ca/ is also a goofy website as well, appearing to focus solely upon live music events, or they haven't gotten around to filling in the beer section. Either way, I am a sucker for a new IPA and purple seems to be popular for many of the latest new ones.

I dug a little deeper and managed to find a page with a little more info on Symphony Hazy IPA https://www.rhythmandbrews.ca/product-page/symphony-hazy-ipa "Our siganture American IPA with hints of tripical organge" is not a good effort when 3 out of 9 words are misspelled. 6.9% ABV and a decent flavour makes it a shame that I am going to return the favour. This is beer.
