This spring I was able to take several pictures of the ringed plover at the stream sandbank of the danube river. These birds live and breed there so you need to be carefull so you don't destroy their nests. The best opportunity to get some nice pictures of these bird is to pick a spot, lay down and wait till you see them wantering through the gravel bank. As they are constantly looking for food they might stop by your spot and you can easily take some nice pictures of them. Of course you need a long lens like my 150-600 mm lens to get close enough.

I am lucky that I already know a lot of nice places where I can take pictures of birds that live near the water. But I am always looking for some new spots so I can find even other species of birds and spots where i can get a very nice background like in these pictures here. I also like the small plants that are growing there because they give the picture something special.
These birds are some small and cute ones and i really enjoy watching them.
