Weight Loss and Babbling About Moving House

in #blog3 years ago

It's been about a month since I last babbled about life, weight loss, and general stuff... so, here we go!

Let's begin with The Weight Loss

...or the lack thereof.

This month has been pretty lacking in that department I think, but at least, overall, things are moving along judging by the following photo comparison.

Yes, last photo was on the 19th October -- this post is a week late.

As of today, however; I plan on tracking my measurements. Whilst packing boxes and moving furniture and sorting things into Keep and Throwaway piles, I found my measuring tape! 😁 Which is my preferred method of tracking weight changes.

Scales are fickle things; I don't need to know that I weighed 115kg this morning yet somehow gained another 10kg over the course of a day because of random fluctuations. I need to know what size I am, what parts of my body are losing fat and which parts aren't, and... stuff.

How else will I know what size clothes to buy?

So, enter my weekly chart. You won't see it again until it's filled in ready for my next monthly progress report. 😉

I'm personally hoping, by my next bloggy post, to have lost about 5cm around my waist and a couple of centimetres off my arms. From previous experience, arms are the worst and if I manage to lose even 2cm from that flabby area it will be amazing and I will be pleased.

Moving, moving, moving!

I have moved house a lot in my life, so I'm pretty well versed in the whole how to pack boxes, how to tetris-stack furniture, how to throw out 80% of your belongings thing.

In saying that though -- I don't like moving and where I live right now is the longest I've remained in one place, and if it wasn't for events a few months ago... well, I wouldn't have a lounge-room that looks like this:

Such. A. Mess.

Pretty much everything we own is in this one spot at the moment. The other rooms in the house are all empty bar the two beds and laundry stuff. A few bathroom and kitchen necessities. That's it.

The pile on the left is alllllll being discarded. The pile on the right is the Stuff to Keep! pile. I'm hoping to borrow someone and their trailer later this afternoon to help me get rid of all the things to be discarded...

There's so much -- I'm guessing that'll be about three trailer loads? I didn't realise it was so much until it all started piling up over the weekend and now I feel guilty about using someone else's car and trailer and very costly fuel to get rid of it. Not quite guilty enough to just hire a $350 skip, however.

I could probably sell some of this stuff... like my son's old $800 cot... but... I really can't be bothered. Just. Get rid of it all. Done. The dump can make money off of it if they want.

MORE CHARLIE!

In other news...

That's really all of my news. 😅

We're just waiting for Moving Day in a few weeks. 😄 Moving Day has a date now -- the 28th of November! About a week before then I'll need to contact my electricity and internet providers and get them to shut it all down. There's a lotttt of cleaning that needs to be done. Some of which I can't clean... like this:

That is a whole lot of sticky tape residue stuck on the ceiling that just won't come off no matter what I do. When conventional methods didn't work WD40 was recommended to me... and that didn't work either. Not to mention that I get vertigo when standing on things, looking up, so it has not been much fun at all.

Think the real estate can just get someone to paint over it. Probably won't be getting my bond back anyway, sooo they can do something useful with the money.

Bright light -- bright light!!

And, that's it. 🙃

The 28th of November can't come soon enough! 😁

Until next time,

Thanks for stopping by! 🐝
