What is CHRISTMAS?; Why Should Christians Celebrate IT?; Why Not??

WHETHER THEREFORE YE EAT OR DRINK OR WHATSOEVER YE DO, DO ALL TO THE GLORY OF GOD......1 Cor.10:31 KJV.

The preceding week witnessed holidays dedicated to the celebration of the birth of Jesus , the Christ, who is known as the originator of the Christian faith, in God!!

While some nations , dubbed it simply as holiday, other more religious inclined nations referred it as CHRISTMAS, meaning , vacations for the celebrations of Jesus Christ's birth.

While this holiday is being obverved by ALL, many denominations of the Christian faith anstain from this world wide celebrations.

Most often cited reasons for their abstinence include::

1. Christmas was never instructed by Lord Jesus Christ
2. Christmas was never written in, therefore it can not be seen as part of the scriptures in the Bible
3. The beheading of John, the Baptist was associated with birthday celebration of a subsisting king
4. The celebration has been highjacked by criminals to perpetuate evils in robberies , drunkenness, amorous sexual escapades among other vices

Other controversy associated with this celebration are:

1. That,25th December was never the birthday of Jesus Christ
2. That December , 25th was the original date dedicated for the celebration of Zeus, the Roman Sun God.

As a Christian or observer of events, what is your opinion about the above misgivings??

#Should the Celebrations be abolished??

#Shouldnt the scripture in 1 Cor. 10:31 be applied to extinguish , to the Glory of God , whether to celebrate it or otherwise???

Yes!! WHATEVER IS DONE OUT OF FAITH IS SIN

Therefore we celebrate it in faith, to the Glory of God

While they don't celebrate it in faith , to the Glory of God
