Walking Dead - Diverged (Swiss Army knife commercial)
Was this show fun long time ago? Were characters making realistic decisions? Were there logical and not ridiculous plot moving situations? Or was it just so long ago that i am "romanticizing" it?
It is now 11 years ago when the show started. It was something different at the time and it was really fun. Then after few seasons as the popularity was going up the quality was going down. That usually happens with shows that don't have an ending planed and they just continue with filming because they are just trying to stretch and milk it as much as they can.
I am not even sure when i gave up on it for the first time. Then i read that they got better and got back to it, few times. Now i am not even sure why i watch it, maybe i am hoping that there will be an end. Last few seasons the plot moving situations got so ridiculous that i am wondering do they even have writers or is there a room full of monkeys randomly clicking on stuff.
Daryl and Carol
Latest episode called Diverged continues the story from the previous one with Daryl and Carol. They called each other names in last episode and now they are angry and hurt. So they diverge. Daryl goes looking for stuff and Carol goes home (but she does not feel like that is home now).
Before all of that Daryl gives her a Swiss Army knife so she could open a water bottle and she forgets to give it back to him.
Carol gets home, feels like she does not belong there because she has nothing to do. So she tries to make a soup from nothing, kills some zombies (mostly of camera), hunts a rat and show us how great the Swiss Army knife is. That is her part in this episode.
Daryl's bike has a hole in the fuel hose so it stops. And he realize that he does not have his Swiss Army knife.
Flashback if we somehow forgot that he gave it to Carol.

We also need to see that US army has some great multitools so he stumbles upon some walkers and few are US army men. Would be stupid if they were Swiss army men (but i would not be surprised, it is the Walking Dead)
This was somewhere in the midle of the episode, i stopped taking screenshots. Felt like you will get the picture.
He kills them, fixes his bike and goes home.
Daryl gets home, Carol wants to give him the Swiss Army knife back, but he now has the US one so he refuses. End
Will the Swiss Army knife have another appearance or was this just one time brilliant performance? Find out in the next episode.

The second season was a drawn out Kia ad. They didn't try to hide it either.
That reminds me of the Oldsmobile Aurora product placement in The X-Files long ago, another product placement that they made very clear was sponsored.
They are fuel efficient :D
this i can't even claim that it was product placement (i hope for them that it was :) )
I had a feeling that someone was thinking "people on the internets really love montages, let's do 5 of them" :)
X-Files was long ago so i am not sure but i think they had few of those (was not ford also there a lot?) and i don't even mind it, but this was just ridiculous.
Swiss knife is all you need with the zombies.
It is not a commercial it is a lesson :D
They had an opportunity to make a big zombie killing scene whit it, but they missed it. She could have dramatically open the knife and start killing them :)
