Hive is a growing ecosystem full of innovation and creativity. Although Hive is a technology that is designed to store vast amounts of data and allow for time-based monetization, it doesn't make people into content creators but into blockchain owners. There is pride in owning a blockchain, building on it, putting our very best into it. Hive doesn't shape you; you shape Hive.
We are beyond producing content for the consumer market. We are beyond helping create an economy where people earn rewards through providing content as a microservice. We are at the stage of enabling individuals -enabling ourselves- through both a technological and cultural shift, to build on the Web 3 frontier one block at a time. The grassroots community behind Hive has a long-ranging vision where all are innovators in their own right, in their own unique ways, in accordance to their own goals. This is organic building.
And for this reason, we invite everyone to join together this week and celebrate Hive communities.

I joined @epodcaster's #HiveChat event on Twitter, but it wasn't until her very last guest speaker mentioned that "Twitter Spaces" only works on a mobile platform, that I finally realised why I was only getting half of the atmosphere of that event. From my perspective, it would have been better to host such an event in
Discord, as that is where most of the IM interaction for the 
HIVE community seems to happen. Or maybe as a 
DLive on-chain livestream event. But then, I guess this was more about providing an opportunity to reach a new audience who may be unfamiliar with social blockchain technology, rather than OG Hiveans.
You are right about that. How do we reach folks outside of our own wonderful world of Hive bubble? We talk about Hive in the places the non-initiated hang out. It's definitely a slow burn model, but one that we hope will (over time) prove out.

Yes, that makes perfect sense. It was an interesting experience. I won't be rushing off to get into Twitter Spaces though, haha. I'm quite happy where I am. I left the "YouTwitFace" world behind a long time ago. I'm on the Fediverse (
Mastodon, etc), and on 
Discord, of course, and here on the social blockchain. My wife keeps up with our family on FB still. I haven't yet enticed her to join me here on 
HIVE as yet.
I hear Adam Curry talking about the Fediverse all the time. I haven't jumped in...yet.
I've been on the Fediverse for quite a while now. Originally I was on Diaspora* and GNUSocial, as replacements for FB and Twitter respectively. I hear that there is a bridge between the
HIVE social blockchain and the Fediverse, called https://dline.xyz which I am trying to get into, as well.

I have actually been really appreciating how much Hive has already shaped me... into a better person. That might sound all warm and fuzzy but please understand this:
Hive has exposed me to more people of different cultures, different beliefs and different life circumstances than I ever experienced in more than a decade on Web 2.0 social media platforms.
Those other platforms seem to be set up such that - even in my determination to be open-minded - I'm stuck in a echo chamber of people just like me. How do we create a fair, equitable, safe, kind world for all when we look into an online world and only see people that look and sound just like us?? How do I learn about and learn from people who are, in a small or large way, different from myself but just as precious and valuable as a human being as me?
It seems that I can do just that... but not on those platforms, but rather on this one.
So thank you to all of you who are actively building this thing in the background in ways that I (as an avid writer but non-developer) will
nevermaybe never be able to (or want to) do. Thanks for building and maintaining the infrastructure that allows all of us to learn and grow and thrive together. 🙏Excited to see the Community Challenge article on 19th February 😍

I've been enjoying the fun games on hive. I started when i was 17 now i'm 20. The people i met and the things i've bought with hive are awesome.
This is awesome! The puzzles look cool and perhaps informative to many as well. This is the first time I’ve seen anything blockchain-related out of my home state of WV and Hive is involved! I’m intrigued 👀
