It's better to listen to this one

direct rc delegation review timeline

Direct RC delegations are pending review for a few weeks now as it's all hands on deck to finish off HAF, but @blocktrades' team is hoping to have time to provide a review this week.

Communities v2 discussions and optimizations with HAF

Loooooooots of discussions there, mostly on the technical side and on how I can implement some features (python vs SQL). On top of it we went through some of the feature requests raised by the community.
Feel free to listen to it if you want the full picture but basically, we will make a post to raise some awareness on exactly what features are wanted, sort them in terms of "work / reward" and work on it. We already have a pretty substiantial list so I'll outline them in the initial post.

from @arcange HBD debt ratio parameters for printing

Basically a bunch of discussions regarding the debt ratio, with HBD being over 1$ for a bit now, a lot of HBD is being printed from the HIVE -> HBD conversion, which could result in payouts being in liquid hive instead of HBD. So the idea was to be able to raise the debt ratio % (currently at 10%) at will by the witnesses without requiring a hard fork.

Ultimately, the decision was to not do it to provide more faith for investors that the economic params won't change. On the other side as @gtg pointed out, the economic rules changed with the new op, so it definitely makes sense to update that debt ratio in the next hard fork.

Sort:

At 12 minute mark, the New Image Server, is this something only Hive.blog related or will other front ends be using it also? Is this to move away from the Amazon Web Service stuff, and will it provide a longer term image storage, or still drop images after a certain amount of time?

Thanks again for the post, very much appreciate how you are all trying to keep us informed.

Most (all? unsure) front ends are using the same image server provided by blocktrades. AFAIK the infrastructure is not on AWS and the images are not dropped after a certain amount of time but I could be wrong.

Okay, I seem to recall, (may be wrong), that over on Steem images were only stored for two years and they used amazon to store the images. It would be nice if the pictures got the same treatment as the words and lasted forever, but they do take a heck of a lot more space than words.

We don't discard images on the imageserver.

Thank you for the confirmation, and I really appreciate that you are willing to store some pretty big files like images.

Am new to hive and its seems giftgiver doesn't work, what can I do?

You can write some quality posts and try earning a bit of Hive Power or just buy HIVE and power it up to have more Resource Credits.

Giftgiver is fully delegated out and can't do any more delegations because of that. Buying and powering up is the best way in this scenario.
