Cryptocurrencies are continuously losing their periods (massively )due to bad news from The Chinese Government :stopping ICOs , shutting down domestic crypto exchanges plus JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon adding fuel to the already volatile fire by saying that bitcoin is a 'fraud' that will eventually blow up: "It's worse than tulip bulbs. It won't end well. Someone is going to get killed," see link. The reality, however, lies on these entities including The United States government (secretly in panic mode) fearing the heck out of what Steem, Bitcoin and blockchain technology as a whole stand for : mass freedom from central banks and their massive control and robber through taxation and censorships . Is this time to sell and run for your life or an opportunity to get some top coins? Here are some points to note:
Time to buy Great Coins especially Steem: Steem is one of the best coins for future value ( see my older posts for reasons) and for those of us who want to make a great investment, this is the time to change your fiat for steem and power it up because as I indicated in my older posts, steem is highly undervalued and its true value will start to be visible from next year.
Banks In Panic Mode: Many banks are secretly in panic mode due to the superior blockchain technology and people realizing that they can transact faster , safer and cheaper, hold and make huge profits with cryptocurrencies than holding their money in banks and getting practically nothing (even paying monthly fees)-hence the need for Jamie Dimon to come and talk nonsense about their greatest fear bitcoin in order for weak people to lose confidence leading to panic sell.
Government in state of fear: The most control freak governments in the world ie The Chinese Government and United States Government whose national debt soars past 20Trillion USD according to an article in Washington times see link are in panic mode and will do anything to stop crypto currencies popularity because of fear of losing control of their citizens via decline of banks, credit cards and taxation. These governments will do anything to compromise cryptocurrencies in order to take back control-however it is time for us to say no and continue investing in top coins especially steem , bitcoin and etherium (including EOS and Bitshares which are currently very cheap)
Conclusion : The power belongs to us : In reality, governments and their central banks cronies are servants of the people. Therefore we should unite in support of blockchain technology and even make it better through innovation and design thinking strategies. Moreover, If we stand firm and stop all these panic selling (which can result in huge loss of investments) rather use fiat to buy more top crpytocurrencies like steem and power up -including building a decentralized ecosystem : internet and exchange and make our ecosystem successful through our support, then we will start seeing our power and wealth coming back to us and those haters will give up the ghost!!!

Excellent analysis! I agree steem is a good place to park ones fiat currency. I've put close to $2,000 of my own money here in 6 weeks.
I've also been buying small increments of BTC & ETH this week with my most recent purchase this morning (and my largest of the week). I've been converting some of the btc and ETH I've bought at a bit higher prices earlier this week into STEEM.

There is no reason to sell. This is a simple case of age old tactics being used. When an entity fears something, this is the process:
We see this over and over whether it is a person who is marginalized before being fired, an entity, or a technology.
The fact is that is crypto/blockchain wasnt a threat, there would be no conversation about it. Do you hear the banksters or regulators talking about Continentals? That is an alternative currency that could take on the USD if people chose it. But there isnt a word about it since it is no threat. BTC and others are.
As for your statement about the government and banks being there for us, I do disagree. They established a system where the banks run the show including the governments. Since they control the currency they can buy the politicians, lobbyists, media, and other corporations. They own it all. Crypto is what is allowing us to take it back. Owning coins means we are not beholden to their devaluing of the currency.
Buy and hodl is my view on BTC, LTC, and Steem. I have some ETH but am waffling on that a bit.

You are welcome Charles. These are all points that warrant discussion and we need to keep shining light on them. There is now an opportunity to break away from the oppressors that enslaved humanity for their profit the last 100+ years. We see the backlash against bitcoin...this tells me they are scared....they see their apple card getting turned on end.

Yes I have some crypto...although I am more a technologist...I see many technologies starting to free mankind. The Internet was the first mechanism that offer all people a voice although the elites figured out how to silo it off and control that. Now the next stage of the internet will be breaking away from those entities that put up the silos and take back that control. This will simultaneously break away from the fiat control system if for no other reason it offers us a choice.

ICOs are a great thing...a wonderful way to make big money....and to lose all you put in. It is a shooting gallery in my opinion...a lot of crap out there. It is akin to the penny stock world...lots of good stories but nothing.
I dont play the ICO game too much....it is more risk than I prefer. I will give up some at the beginning to see an entity to start to produce. Prices often will drift back anyway due to overhype and excitement.

While cryptocurrencies may endure a rocky road for a time, it is hard to see how they will be completely undone. The power of currency rests in the confidence of its users; the faith people have in the issuer. The greater number of people that discover the safety, security, and ease of use of Bitcoin, Steem, and other established currencies, the more likely they survive.

Didn't I read somewhere that a bank started it's own cryptocurrency? I'm sure lots are scared but still more might be looking for ways to capitalise on it/screw people over even further. Great post.

Very good advise... exactly what i was thinking... :) I got out at the first news of exchanges in china might be closing... don´t regret it yet. Problem is that most of the ppl in reddit think cryptos are a Teamgame... When it rises everybody cheers... When it falls everybody praises the dip. But this is serious and these guys don´t realise it. PPL need to learn Money is not magically created just by bitcoin if someone got a profit someone else made a loss... leaving the delusional hodlers behind.

Hmm, I dunno. I think banks will begin to develop their own blockchain-based products, and the whole thing will become centralized again. Maybe I'm just a pessimist, but I think there's simply too much money involved for the bankers and politicians to just allow decentralized blockchain tech to take over. That said, I'd love to be proven wrong!

I think you, like a lot of people would like to see the current fiat system destroyed and replaced with something like Crypto, but looking at how things move in the crypto world I think it is controlled by the same people who control fiat, so there would not be any real difference, in fact I think it would be worse.
your point is valid however what do you suggest? no constructive suggestion from you except purporting what I think!!! send in your constructive suggestions on way forward especially with the USD that is fraught with debt
I don't have to suggest anything, in fact all people who are suggesting are just what I would be keyboard warriors. Just look at all the articles on Steemit, anarchy, libertarian, videos, interviews, and all amount to nothing, just hot wind. Nobody is putting anything on the line to destroy the system, at the most there are those who try to get away from it by homesteading or something like that. It is not my fight, I just watch.
Your case is the worst one and those people you mentioned about posting or making videos are at least suggestig and taking action through their posts or videos (FYI people watch and listen to them and yes some of their arguments might not be the best but at least they try )!!! their action lead to confidence in the market and people buying back cryptos. Sitting on the fence and not saying anything is what they want from you. Keep watching while your house burn and say nothing!!!! No one is preaching attack to the system or violence against banks , however we can write about it including being free to write or make videos about our opinion without sitting and watching while your Government compromise everything around you.
