If you expect me to verify my Discord account with a phone number, forget it.
It's not that I couldn't get a throwaway, it's about the attitude.

In the case above, I wanted to report a potential bug in their software.

I understand there are a ton of Discord spam and phishing bots.
There are enough ways to mitigate that, though.

So, yeah, nah.

    I would not mind writing down my phone number. Coinbase asks for a government-issued photo ID because of financial regulations. That is much more serious. In case of a hack, strangers would be able to do some serious abuse with that. So I do not really want to upload my photo ID. But I currently do not know any other cryptocurrency exchange, which would support Hungarian Forint (HUF). Maybe Binance, but I heard bad things about Binance, and probably it also asks for a government-issued photo ID. Currently I do not know how to sell cryptocurrencies for fiat money without uploading the previously mentioned document.

      Purse.io will let you spend crypto on amazon, and bitpay will open a bank account for you and accept crypto to load the debit card they give you.
      You will have to kyc for bitpay, if you want the card.
      I've used both for several years without complaint.

      Coinbase has KYC too. But this is a recent addition in their case. I am using it for five years (since 2017.12.19). Coinbase is expensive, but other than this I am very satisfied with it.

        I have not heard about it so far. Can I withdraw money on it to a bank account (or to PayPal)? Based on a quick look, I see that I could redeem many types of gift cards. But also many of them are currently out of stock.

          I sometimes buy giftcards for a local supermarket and just buy food.
          It's not paypal, but it's easy, non KYC and I can buy stuff with it.

            This is one solution. Maybe I will try it. But maybe I will upload my ID to Coinbase, if I will not find a working alternative.
