Tata cara mengeluarkan serumen / kotoran telinga :

Serumen cair atau lunak, bila jumlahnya sedikit dapat dibersihkan menggunakan peelilit kapas / aplikator Kapas.
Serumen cair atau lunak, bila jumlahnya banyak dapat dilakukan dengan suction / alat penghisap, atau juga bisa dilakukan dengan cara irigasi liang telinga.
3.Serumen yang liat atau keras namun tidak melekat pada kulit liang telinga dapat dikeluarkan dengan pengait serumen (Cerumen Hook), Apabila tidak berhasil bisa juga dilakukan dengan irigasi telinga.
4.Serumen yang keras (Cerumen prop) dan melekat pada liang telinga harus diberi obat teteys telinga dulu yaitu karbogliserin 10 % atau fenol gliserin dengan dosis 3 x 3 tetes selama 5 hari. Selanjutnya dapat dilakukan penghisapan dengan pompa suction atau irigasi liang telinga dengan menggunakan Spuit yang berisi air hangat.
SARAN : Harus dilakukan oleh tenaga kesehatan, karena apabila tidak dilakukan sesuai dengan prosedur dapat menimbulkan efek yang tidak baik pada telinga.
