In olden days, a person walking along a road or highway holding his or her hand positioned outstretched with the thumb upward in the air meant the person was trying to hitch a ride. "Hitchhikers," they were called. Many free spirited Hippies relied on hitchhiking as a primary means of transportation.
Fortunately during the peak of this trend in the 70s I was too young to drive and later too concerned for my personal safety -- I never hitchhiked or picked up a hitchhiker.
Nowadays a thumbs up is a symbol of positivity as well as a popular emoji.

How are things going in Smyrna? Has the Coronavirus peaked yet? It has in some of the counties in my state. The county where I reside has a slow re-opening of some businesses that started Monday. I chose to keep playing it safe for my elderly relative's sake.

Sorry for the late reply @ninahaskin, I'm in a 'slug-a-bug' state these days. Alarm would have gone off at 6:00 had I not stopped it
First, then I didn't get OUT of bed until 11. The entire day then becomes wasted. I get almost nothing done. I'M in the very
High risk category (65, COPD, Heart issues and more) so I'm staying in, for the most part. But I go to the grocery store
When I need something. I don't know about the "Peaks" I think ALL the numbers are inflated to increase the "Panic
Factor" so we'll hand over more and more of our freedoms to the gov't. I'm very sick of it. (pun intended) 😀
