Getting My Life Together

I’m totally kidding. My life is so not together and I’m just trying to stick some tape to myself to keep some part of it intact.

My nerd posture is starting to really cause problems like not being able to breath properly and my left arm aching so bad I can’t sleep. Little things like that. I had a massage, some needles stuck to my sholder and as a last step taped up with kinesio tape to help with my posture.

I don’t know much about kinesio tape and how helpful it actually is. It feels nice at least. I’d be interested to know if any of you have been taped up and has it been helpful to you.

Sort:

I have had cups stuck to my back, it's called cupping (no surprises). gave me a 4-day migraine... hey (light-bulb)... you should try it!

An ex did that once. Her back looked like she had been hugged by an octopus!

LOL, it didn't help one little bit re: my back.., cost a lot and made my head hurt!

I don’t think I’ll ever try that. I have enough issues with skin, don’t need to aggravate it any more. I bruise so easily I’m sure I’d have the cupping marks on my back for weeks!

I’d have the cupping marks on my back for weeks!

Not to mention a throbbing head. Never in my life have I had a migraine for days. All those toxins came out via my scalp it seems.

I’ve never had a migraine and I’m not about to conjure one with this medieval practise 😅

Do you do any yoga or pilates? I've heard that can be good for posture. So many have bad posture due to computer and mobile phone use, hunching over them. I'm not saying that's your issue of course, just stating facts. Hopefully the tape works; I've never heard of it but it looks legit.

I don't really exercise because I'm lazy AF. That would obviously be the cure for a lit of body ailments. You've never heard of kinesio tape!? I thought it was a well known thing, though a fairly new practise I think. My city has a school for sport science, hense a lot of sporty people around all the time, so I see a lot of taped up people. I believe it's athletes that use it the most because the tape can support but doesn't limit the range of motion. It's funny seeing people who've used the tape during a sunny day and then end up with the weirdest tan lines.

Yes, exercise can probably help. Being lazy AF isn't a bad thing though. We all get that way sometimes.

Maybe here kinisio tape is called something else? I have no idea. I've never used that method of healing although used to get my ankles and wrists taped when I was playing American football for ten years. Does that count? Speaking of people with strange tan lines up there because of tape...I had funny ones on my ankles and lower legs because of the tape...And it would rip all the hairs out when I'd take it off after training and games. Ouch!

Kinesio tape is different from athletic tape which I assume you used for ankles and wrists. Kinesio tape is strechy, athetic tape isn’t and they are used for different things.

Ah ok, yeah, strapping tape isn't stretchy, so quite different.

And heere I thought its part of your design for Viking Alien Queen outfit, minimal clothing maximum protection

Minimum effort, max results. Just taping up the nipples too and it's a go!

The main point with kinesio tape especially in the back is to give a sensory reminder that helps to fix your posture. If you start to hunch, the tape tightens and makes you want to fix your posture. I had tapes on my calves but couldn't notice much of a difference when it to how tight they were. Though the tape supposedly can increase fluid circulation and thus metabolism when done in a certain way.

left arm aching so bad I can’t sleep

Is it because of some tight muscles or does it feel like nerve aching? And if so, did they check your neck muscles, because if they're tight, they might cause radiating nerve pain to the arm by pinching the nerves that go through them.

I go to a good sports masseur and he did a pretty thorough analysis of my upper body and how tight pretty much all the muscles are there. The simple ”diagnosis” is frozen shoulders and yeah there is definitely nerve pain too. I need to starts flushing the nerves, that’s something new I learned :)

I see, hopefully you'll get some relief with the treatment.

I hope that’s not as painful as waxing when ya rip it off!

I've never tried those tapes, but I'm curious if they work...
I think the best thing for you is physical activity, for example swimming...

I am also lazy so I am good at giving advice but not at giving an example 😅

You need to exercise more, stretching, joga, physiotherapy at start and then some gym weight lifting and everything will be ok

I know. It’s not rocket science.
