How are the Fever fairing?

I know, I know, that photo has nothing to do with the Indiana Fever. You are right, it doesn't, but it does have to do with basketball and I like using my own photos as much as possible, so you are just going to have to deal with it. Just close your eyes really tight and imagine that Caitlin Clark is out there on that court instead of my niece and her high school team mates.

Feel better now?

Great!

If you haven't been following, the Indiana Fever is the WNBA team that picked up Caitlin Clark as their number 1 draft pick in the off season. As you probably know, if a team was in a position to get the #1 pick, that probably means they pretty much sucked the year before. Unless there was some kind of trade, which happens, but not usually for the #1 pick.

So they added Clark to their roster and again if you haven't been following, Clark is one of the main reasons that women's college basketball is on the map these days. The college tournament that she just played in a few short months ago was bringing in more viewers than several other men's sports. That's honestly a pretty big deal.

The Indiana Fever are currently 1 and 7 on the season. That's a pretty horrible start, but again, not really that surprising given the fact they were most likely the worst team in the league last year. While Clark has been off to a rocky start, she is finally starting to show some signs of life. More likely she is finally settling into her position on the new team and her teammates are becoming familiar with her style of play.

In their most recent game, Clark scored a massive 30 points and she also had six assists, five rebounds, three steals and three blocks.

Triple doubles were a common occurrence for Clark when she in university, so it's nice to see her getting back up near those numbers. The assists will continue to come as she starts to gel more with her team and the rebounds will happen as she learns to become more aggressive.

The fact that she has been shooting more consistently is a plus for the Fever. I have a feeling before too long they will be adding some more wins to the left side of their statistics.

It's been a while since I tuned in for a Fever game, but I am sure that I will be watching some more of Clark in the future. I'd like to see how much she is able to improve. The biggest issue is she isn't used to teams playing aggressive defense against her. In my opinion anyway. Once she gets that figured out, it could be lights out.

I think it’s great that you cover and talk about women teams and tournaments.
Great work!

I'm inspired by my nieces who are some of the best athletes I know!

Wow, It's impressive how Caitlin Clark's making waves in the WNBA, especially after her stellar college performance. The Fever's rocky start isn't surprising, but her recent stats suggest they're on the upswing😁😁

Yes, it will be interesting to see how she adjusts.
