Sanity Prevails

Rumour has it Liberty Media want to offload Formula One as they have added no value and don't know how. Lets hope they don't screw it up even more with experimental ideas.

It is good to try and change things up by trying new things. The FIA and Liberty Media who own the rights to Formula One proposed a reverse grid line up for races that have more than one race at the same venue. This year we already know that at the Red Bull Ring in Austria and Silverstone races will be held over consecutive weekends. This has never happened before and is kind of unique.

The thought is whoever wins the first race will most likely win the second one. By reversing the grid for the final race they would eliminate qualifying. The bottom placed driver would be awarded pole position with the leader starting at the back.

I disagree with the FIA and Liberty Media as I believe the teams will learn so much from the first race. The second race will be much closer and there are so many different variables like the heat of the day, is it raining or the adjustments other teams make on their car setups. By the time they are racing on the second weekend they will all know exactly where they need to be. If teams fail to impress during the second race then they have no hope and it has to be down to the personnel.

I am getting the feeling that Liberty Media are not exactly sports people at all. They are present for the entertainment side of things and building the fan base. If you change things too much you will lose the fan base they have already.

If you screw around with the Championship too much it will wreck the sport and it will be ruined forever. The drivers and teams live and breathe this sport as their careers are all tied up in the results. It is not some new stupid rule trying to handicap the successful teams yet again. Other teams need to earn their victories and Liberty is desperate for a smaller team to win. starting to sound like it is the taking part that counts and you are all winners "bull"again. I don't know what rock these idiots were found under, but maybe they are the wrong company to be leading Formula One. This type of thinking makes me sick as it goes against everything in sport.

Mercedes and Sebastien Vettel were dead against it which tells me Vettel will be driving but for which team next season. He has the want and will to win still otherwise he would have just kept quiet. Mercedes kind of know it was another jab at them as they are trying to achieve 7 titles in a row this season. It is not their fault they are that good and it is up to others to try and beat them fair and square. It will happen eventually with Liberty trying to make things more even overall, but in which year I don't know.

From tyres that degrade quicker than normal forcing teams to pit more often and huge budgetary caps.Changing the aero dynamics on the car to make overtaking easier you start to wonder what is going to be their next trick. I think they are getting desperate and I believe what they have done wont change a god damn thing.
