A good volleyball match was played yesterday in the Municipal Pavilion of San Sadurniño between the local team and Calasancias Coruña, between two teams that are much more evenly matched than the classification of the competition reflects: the locals fighting for promotion and the Coruñeses fighting for the first points of the season.
The first set started with both teams very evenly matched, looking for the opponents' mistakes to distance themselves from the scoreboard. It was the locals, Intasa San Sadurniño who managed to do so, thanks to the good blocking, which nullified the Coruña attack, and their attack by the centre zone, which Calasancias Coruña could not stop. This superiority in the net, together with the errors in the attack of Coruña, led to the scoring for the locals, who scored the set with a tight 25 - 22 that reflected the equality on the pitch.
The second set was controlled by Calasancias Coruña. His good level of reception allowed them to execute attacking actions through different areas of the net, which could not control the blocking of Intasa San Sadurniño. The effectiveness in the attack of Calasancias Coruña, together with a good second line defence allowed the Coruñeses to take advantage of the scoreboard, during the whole set. In the last part of the set two errors in the reception of Calasancias Coruña and several errors in the attack returned the score to an exciting 24-24. Both teams played the end of the set with success, but in the end Calasancias Coruña, thanks to their serve and the success in attack, took the set with a 29 - 27, tying the match.
In the third set Calasancias Coruña continued to maintain their dominance of the game, thanks to their reception and their attacking combinations, coming to take a 5-2 lead. From this moment on Intasa San Sadurniño started to control the game again at the net, with a good blocking and hard attacks through the wings, which Calasancias Coruña could not stop, reducing also their offensive effectiveness. The second part of the set was controlled by the locals, who comfortably scored the set.
The fourth set was again a very even game, with continuous alternatives in the attack and good play by both teams. The physical superiority and experience of the locals was compensated by the defensive sacrifice and teamwork of Calasancias Coruña, who reached a good level of play. In the end the attacking potential of the local team made the difference in this last set, preventing the Coruñas from scoring.
With this match Calasancias Coruña ends the first round of the competition in last position in the classification and without getting a score, but the good level of play reached in the last matches allows us to think about a different second round, from January 17th.

Buen partido de voleibol el disputado ayer en el Pabellón Municipal de San Sadurniño entre el equipo local y Calasancias Coruña, entre dos equipos bastante más igualados en juego de lo que refleja la clasificación de la competición: los locales luchando por situarse en los puestos de ascenso y los coruñeses luchando por conseguir los primeros puntos de la temporada.
El primer set comenzó con ambos equipos muy igualados, buscando los fallos del contrario para distanciarse en el marcador. Fueron los locales, el Intasa San Sadurniño los que lo lograron, gracias al buen bloqueo, que anulaba los ataque coruñeses, y a su ataque por zona centro, que Calasancias Coruña no conseguía parar. Esta superioridad en la red, unido a los errores en el ataque coruñes decantó el marcador hacia los locales, anotándose el set con un apretado 25 – 22 que reflejaba la igualdad en el terreno de juego.
El segundo set estuvo controlado por Calasancias Coruña. Su buen nivel de recepción les permitió ejecutar acciones de ataque por diferentes zonas de red, lo que no podía controlar el bloqueo de Intasa San Sadurniño. La efectividad en el ataque de Calasancias Coruña, unido a una buena defensa de segunda línea permitió a los coruñeses tomar ventaja en el marcador, durante todo el set. En la última parte del set dos errores de recepción de Calasancias Coruña y varios errores de ataque devolvieron la igualdad en el tanteo, llegándose a un emocionante 24-24. Ambos equipos disputaron el final de set con acierto, pero al final Calasancias Coruña, gracias a su saque y al acierto en ataque, se llevó el set con un 29 – 27, empatando el partido.
En el tercer set Calasancias Coruña seguía manteniendo su dominio del juego, gracias a su recepción y sus combinaciones de ataque, llegando a tomar una ventaja de 5-2. A partir de este momento Intasa San Sadurniño comenzó a controlar de nuevo el juego en la red, con un buen bloqueo y duros ataques por las alas, que Calasancias Coruña no conseguía frenar, reduciendo además su efectividad ofensiva. La segunda parte del set estuvo controlada por los locales, que se anotaron el set con comodidad.
El cuarto set volvió a ser un juego muy igualado, con continuas alternativas en el ataque y buen juego por parte de ambos equipos. La superioridad física y la experiencia de los locales era compensada con el sacrificio defensivo y el trabajo de equipo de Calasancias Coruña, que alcanzó un buen nivel de juego. Al final el potencial de ataque del equipo local marcó la diferencia en este último set, impidiendo a los coruñeses puntuar.
Con este partido Calasancias Coruña finaliza la primera vuelta de la competición en última posición de la clasificación y sin conseguir puntuar, pero el buen nivel de juego alcanzado en los últimos partidos permite pensar en una segunda vuelta diferente, a partir del 17 de enero.
