This new game, originating on the HIVE blockchain but easily playable by ANYONE with no blockchain experience, has captivated my imagination and enthusiasm! Let's start with the promo video made by the creators, and I'll go on from there with some information and my thoughts about what makes this one of the most promising and intriguing games I've encountered.
First, gaming is a HUGE monetary business - to the tune of about TWENTY BILLION DOLLARS in the USA alone. But the problem is, the majority of this money goes from the PLAYERS into the pockets of the big businesses who developed them. Wouldn't you like to actually reap rewards from your game play?
EXODE is a new breed of game that doesn't readily fit into normal categories. It's not a TCG (Trading Card Game) or a CSG (Collectible Strategy Game) - it's something going way beyond that. The creators brand it as a "living collectible strategy game". You can read a detailed summary of the faqs here, but I'll summarize the basics briefly.
The premise is that it's the year 2535 and the earth has been destroyed. You'll be the space captain of your own ship and crew and start out with your own planet to colonize. All that follows is entirely up to YOU - every player will have their own individualized experience based on the decision you make, the assets you acquire and even the alliances you form with other players.
You'll gain crew, ships, weapons, supplies through cards and contracts that you will OWN on the blockchain. These can be traded, bought, and sold on the market. They will be YOURS until YOU dispose of them. If your world is destroyed during play, you do NOT lose your cards and investment. You can start again, learning from your previously gained experience. You can make new products on your planet and SELL them as well to other players.
In my opinion, EXODE creates a vast improvement in the gaming world. A game you can immerse yourself in, be challenged by, and never grow bored with - and at the same time have the potential to make money while doing so!
So what about this "blockchain" business? Do you have to be a knowledgeable cryptocurrency person to get involved with this game? Absolutely not! You do have to have a HIVE account to gain your rewards but the creators have made a FREE HIVE ACCOUNT available for you. And you can always purchase the assets with PAYPAL as well.
