[ESP-ING] SANDIA CALAVERA EN MI MANO/ WATERMELON SKULL ON MY HAND

Me encuentro aquí hoy para compartir con ustedes este maquillaje fantasia con un toque de realismo de una calavera de sandía que maquillé en mi mano. Espero les guste!

Hey dear friends!

I am here today to share with you this fantasy makeup with a touch of realism of a watermelon skull that I made up on my hand. I hope you like it!

Aquí en Argentina tuvimos una semana bastante difícil con respecto al clima. Fuimos atacados por una ola de calor como hacía muchísimos años no se tenían registros.

Para estos dias, me coincidero un fanático de la sandía. Que fruta tan noble, super dulce y refrescante como ninguna! Pero por desgracia, no pude comprar porque no había por ninguna parte. Me quedé tan tentado que decidí dedicarle un maquillaje en mi mano.

Here in Argentina we had quite a difficult week regarding the weather. We were attacked by a heat wave as many years ago there were no records.

For these days, I agree a fan of watermelon. What a noble fruit, super sweet and refreshing like no other! But unfortunately, I couldn't buy it because there was nowhere to be found. I was so tempted that I decided to dedicate a make-up on my hand.

Comencé a pigmentar la parte de arriba del cráneo que sería la cáscara de la sandía. Para esto utilicé varios tonos de verde. Apliqué un verde manzana para la base, luego fui aplicando manchitas con verme medio y amarillo. Por encima de ésto, agregué las típicas franjas manchadas horizontales en la cáscara de la sandía utilizando verdes más oscuros.

I started to color the top part of the skull that would be the shell of the watermelon. For this I used various shades of green. I applied an apple green for the base, then I applied spots with medium green and yellow. On top of this, I added the typical horizontal blotchy stripes on the watermelon rind using darker greens.

Luego mezclé los pigmentos rojo, magenta y blanco sobre una placa de metal para llegar al color deseado para esta textura de sandia. Lo apliqué dentro de la calavera para utilizarlo como base.

También esfuminé maquillaje blanco para crear la transición entre la cáscara y la carne de la sandía.

I then mixed the red, magenta and white pigments on a metal plate to arrive at the desired color for this watermelon texture. I applied it inside the skull to use as a base.

I also blended white makeup to create the transition between the rind and the flesh of the watermelon.

Con la mescla que me quedó el color que utilicé para la base, le fui agregando color negro de a gotitas hasta lograr la tonalidad oscura que deseaba, y con éste maquillé las cuencas de los ojos y la nariz de la calavera.

Una vez listo ésto, busqué en Internet algunas fotografías de calaveras y otras de sandias para tener de referencia y así aplicar las sombras correctamente en mi maquillaje.

With the mixture that remained the color that I used for the base, I added black color in small drops until I achieved the dark tone that I wanted, and with this I made up the eye sockets and the nose of the skull.

Once this was done, I searched the Internet for some photographs of skulls and others of watermelons to have a reference and thus apply the shadows correctly in my makeup.

Luego volví a crear la misma mescla que utilicé para la base y le fui agregando pigmento blanco para ir dando claridad a la carne de la sandía. Luego con blanco apliqué los puntos de luz de la calavera para pronunciar aún más la profundidad de la misma.

Then I went back to creating the same mixture that I used for the base and adding white pigment to it to give clarity to the flesh of the watermelon. Then with white I applied the points of light of the skull to further pronounce the depth of it.

Dibujé las semillas simulando ser los dientes de la calavera. Para ésto, maquillé unas gotas de color marrón anaranjado y por encima de las mismas, apliqué manchas negras y puntos de luz con blanco.

Para finalizar este maquillaje, cogí maquillaje acuarelable amarillo y lo apliqué un poco en el fondo para resaltar aún más la sandía. Y este fue el resultado final.

I drew the seeds simulating to be the teeth of the skull. For this, I made up a few drops of orange-brown color and on top of them, I applied black spots and points of light with white.

To finish this makeup, I took yellow watercolor makeup and applied it a little bit in the background to make the watermelon stand out even more. And this was the end result.
