Soviet Military Area - Urban Exploration on Hive
Come on in to the shabby Russian barracks. In Poland, too, the Soviet forces maintained some barracks like this one in Legnica. The armed forces left in 1994, and since then the grounds have been left to rot. It is guarded around the clock to prevent vandalism and theft of scrap metal, but this does not stop the further decay. Obviously, there are no plans for the future use of the site.
Hereinspaziert in die abgerockte Russenkaserne. Auch in Polen unterhielten die sowjetischen Streitkfäfte einige Kasernen wie diese hier in Legnica. 1994 sind die Streitkräfte abgezogen, seitdem vergammelt das Gelände. Das wird zwar rund um die Uhr bewacht um Vandalismus und Schrottdiebstahl zu verhindern aber den weiteren Verfall hält das nicht auf. Offensichtlich gibt es keinerlei Pläne zur zukünftigen Nutzung des Geländes.
The roofs of almost all buildings are damaged. The water runs down to the ground floor. How long do you think the buildings will be able to cope with this?
Bei fast allen Gebäuden sind die Dächer beschädigt. Das Wasser läuft bis ins Erdgeschoss. Wie lange werden die Gebäude das wohl noch verkraften?
When they left, the soldiers took pretty much everything they could carry. Most of the rooms are completely empty. Occasionally you can still find some remains, such as the curtain in the staircase in the first picture or a stretcher.
Beim Abzug haben die Soldaten so ziemlich alles mitgenommen was sie tragen konnten. Die meisten Räume sind komplett leer. Vereinzelt findet man noch einige Hinterlassenschaften, wie die Gardine im Treppenhaus im ersten Bild oder eine Krankentrage.
I wonder how the bathtub got into the former operating theatre? If you look closely, you will find several such curiosities in the buildings. This is a cast-iron bathtub that must weigh 100 kg. Why does someone carry it up there? For a photo project perhaps?
Wie wohl die Badewanne in den ehemaligen Operationssaal gekommen ist? Bei genauer Betrachtung findet man in den Gebäuden einige solcher Kuriositäten. Das ist eine gußeiserne Wanne, die wiegt bestimmt 100kg. Wiese trägt die jemand da hoch? Für ein Fotoprojekt vielleicht?
Pink tiles in the autopsy room? I had never seen anything like that before. But the patients probably didn't care. Pragmatically, the friends back then will have simply stuck the tiles they had on the wall.
Rosa Fliesen im Obduktionssaal? So etwas hatte ich vorher auch noch nicht gesehen. Aber den Patienten war das höchstwahrscheinlich egal. Pragmatisch werden die Freunde damals einfach die Fliesen an die Wand geklebt haben die sie gerade hatten.
What do you think was done in that cellar room? Torture, medical experiments or medical treatment? In any case, the room is very creepy.
Was wurde wohl in diesem Kellerraum gemacht? Folter, medizinische Experimente oder medizinische Behandlung? Der Raum ist jedenfalls sehr gruselig.
The lifeguard of the luxurious swimming hall has forgotten his shoe. Presumably he is still hopping through the world on one leg.
Der Bademeister der luxuriösen Schwimmhalle hat seinen Schuh vergessen. Vermutlich hüpft er immer noch auf einem Bein durch die Welt.
Finally, I discovered the магазин. Unfortunately, the offer was very limited. I couldn't buy any beer, although I was very thirsty after my efforts exploring the large grounds.
Zum Schluss entdeckte ich endlich das магазин. Leider war das Angebot sehr eingeschränkt. Ich konnte kein Bier kaufen obwohl ich nach den Anstrengungen bei der Erkundung des großen Geländes sehr durstig war.

wieder sehr beeindruckende aufnahmen! der raum mit der badewanne ist mein favorit. spannend finde ich die ähnlichkeit mit einer ehemals frz. kaserne hier in der nähe (vor dem krieg war diese kaserne eine deutsche). die kaserne in legnica war nicht zufällig ursprünglich bei erbauung eine deutsche?
Vielen Dank. Das könnte durchaus ursprünglich eine deutsche Kaserne geweckt sein. Aber sicher bin ich mir nicht. Einige Gebäude, wie zum Beispiel die Schwimmhalle sehen aber aus wie aus den 1970er Jahren.
