You might think this is a boring cover picture and you would be right. I did confer with @anidiotexlores about this one before starting to write.
'Keep it quiet, it's gone dark and is off the radar', he advised me. I have images of the front gate complete with the company name, but a little Googling will find it with ease and then the fucking TourBus arrives. It was not a spectacular exploration but nonetheless was interesting.
So apologies but I don’t want this old decaying, rotting garage being sabotaged by the hordes of ravenous, starving wannabe explorers who will still attempt to find it, despite my masking.
Passing by the front bar, we approached a large corrugated iron fence around 12 feet in height. @anidiotexplores peered through a makeshift letterbox looking around for signs of life.
"It looks empty but if I climb over that and there are four Dobermans that appear from nowhere, then I'm fucked and will be mauled alive”, he told me with a little apprehension.
The thought of being eaten alive was a promising start, however...
This was no drive-by and had been leaked in confidence. Someone else had already done it, reducing the chances of those man-eating dogs quite significantly.
I regret not taking more images of the big gate, but it was scalable with care due to the thick metal slats at regular intervals on both sides. This might help the gate become more stable but is very bad when it comes to deterring would-be robbers.
Of course, we were not there to rob anything, but those who might be inside would think otherwise, seeing two dodgy blokes climbing over.
Despite assurances that 'The Decaying Garage' was abandoned, walking past the digger and toward the orange car was a tense experience and nerve-racking.
I looked to my left and spotted a shit-stained, tyre-covered portacabin, with muddy windows and the door slightly ajar. Was there a fuming, raging garage bloke waiting inside with a crowbar that could not be reasoned with?
Moving closer to what looked like the 'main building', not a thing moved and the atmosphere was deadly quiet. This means 'good' in the world of Urban Exploration, I don't particularly want to see anyone.
We passed the orange car and spotted no vandalism, this is one of the reasons this must be kept quiet.
Under a makeshift shelter, a leather sofa sat perhaps waiting for future customers to 'take a seat'.
The double doors suggest this could be the main repair shop. We tried all ways to get inside, but it was sealed tight.
Several vehicles were dotted around, the most significant being this Jaguar V12 XJS. Was it someone's pride and joy, brought for repair and never collected?
I am thinking it may need a little work to become roadworthy once again.
Backtracking past a truck we eyed the portacabin hoping to see anything other than a rampaging human inside after our souls. The gate we had conquered earlier revealed a strange message.
'Why the aversion to children?'
This was more like it, some junk to search through and maybe get a handle on whose garage it was, why it was abandoned, and more importantly, what devious habits the owner kept hidden.
With a header such as 'Platinum Recoveries' I thought it might be a debt collection agency, but it was just some boring crap about catalytic converters.
The bill is dated 2017, from when electricity bills were not totally ridiculous, and reveals Mr. Roberston as the ex-owner.
Once upon a time, this was a busy business.
Besides these keys, there were plenty more. We could have spent all day trying to get one of these wrecks to turnover, but I know it would be in vain.
‘Gunk’, I love the brand name.
It probably still works but was a little battered. This was just one of many items of value that still lives in ‘The Decaying Garage’.
They look like Service Manuals, and not back issues of Playboy. I thought all dodgy garage dudes bought and hoarded porn?
Images such as this I still need to mask addresses, because people will zoom in and retrieve them, visit 'The Decaying Garage' which will then become 'The Vandalised Garage'.
Spotting a caravan, this time with the door wide open we entered without hesitation. If there were snarling pooches with hot dripping saliva they not showing up anywhere.
Home sweet home for Mr. Robertson I presume? It's always good to have a backup TV, even if the top one may give you a little neck strain.
Once it might have been a decent VCR. I was taking notice of the number of cigarette lighters resting on it.
Let's face it, if you own a ramshackle garage, smoking is mandatory, and in this case Amber Leaf and Rizlas. Leaving all your butts hanging around adds to the story, but is hardly squeaky clean.
A lion with tits, furniture polish, malt vinegar, chocolate biscuits, and curry powder. Add 140 fags a day and it all days up to a balanced diet.
Plenty of lighters, as well as the ones sitting on the VCR, a little cash, and the mandatory bottle of HP sauce and you could live very comfortably.
… and if that’s not enough, peas eaten directly from tins washed down with a bottle of cheap Prosecco.
Now with a clear image of Mr. Roberson, we left his hovel caravan and looked at the big gate.
… “Hmmm, here we go again” …

Wow, a fascinating place, still with a lot going for it. I guess it's a lovely thing for you find a place in such conditions... I'm glad you avoid divulging the location, that's "exploring ethics"... Excellent!... I pissed myself laughing reading about the possible four Doberman dogs just imagining it!... ha ha ha! :))... Excellent, always refreshing, always a pleasure to read for a relax time, thank you very much dear @slobberchops friend!

It tend to contact @anidiotexplores about this as he's more integrated into the 'scene' than me. I tend to shy away from Facebook, too many true idiots for my liking. If it's a wreck with nothing worth stealing, then it's of no consequence.

Now this one was COOL! Always so many random things to find in a junk yard type setting like this. BTW the filter you use on your pictures makes them look amazing and so rich in color. 👍
I thought it was going to be crap after discovering the main section was sealed. The 'office' and 'bedroom' saved the day!
Yeah, it makes a lot difference and has been called 'over-bearing' by some.I have the originals of all of them.
Honestly I love it kind of gives me that vibe of some movie colors such as John Wick and I love that style personally.
I had to look at up, a series I haven't watched yet and with an old Keanu.
HP sauce, haven’t seen a bottle of that for awhile.
It used to be a mandatory showpiece, how things have changed eh?
Yup sign of the times I guess
You know, I think you may have stumbled upon a higher class of homeless skid here! Maybe someone with slightly more refined taste with the prosecco and roach saving that might even impress @davedickeyyall on #roachsunday.
With all the evidence of semi-recent living, I almost expected this to be my long last opportunity to see you greeted by someone live to answer some of the mysteries we constantly see. Hopefully not with a crowbar though.
Maybe I am not reading closely enough but do you bring a weapon with you in case of aggressive hobo?
No, it's just not that kind of country. I suppose that sounds strange, but we rarely see knife attacks or guns. They do happen but nowhere near the frequency of the US. I know you are Canada, but I don't have an visibility of what it's like north of the border.
Ah, a little from column A and a little from column B.
I would bring more of a shield than a weapon as whack jobs don't tend to care what kinda country they are in when someone barges in.
Brave man! You have been my hero so many years now! Hands of lethality!
Wow, this place is a regular junk yard. I mean that in a good way, not a bad way. So a tour bus really rolled up? I couldn't tell if you were being serious on that part or not. That is definitely a lot of cigarette butts and a quite a nice multimeter back in the day. It's crazy how the price of those has come down so much. Fantastic shots. This looks like it was a winner!
It's a UX expression meaning.., 'it will be visited by everyone shortly' and not to be taken literally. Word gets around, the location info is shared a little too freely and then the vandals and thieves get, visit and it's spoiled.
This dude seemed quite a character, but entering as I mentioned, was tense. You couldn't do this in the US, the guns would be out.
Ah okay. I get it now. I don't doubt it in the US. I have seen some photos that people have taken where they managed not to get shot over here though. I guess it's just luck of the draw. You can get shot going to the bank or going to school here so....
While I lived the there, the worst I experience I had was walking through a cloud of Pepper spray, or at least that's what I think it was.., and outside too.
No guns, no violence, no knives, no crazies... was I lucky?
When were you here? If it was the 80s they locked the crazies up back then without prejudice. Now they let them roam free but don't give them the mental health supports they need.
It was some time ago... '94-'95 😀
Gotcha! I was just finishing high school.
Your explorations often surprise me but this time is just baffling. That digger and the v12 jag must be worth a few Bob/Hive.
What makes someone stack fag butts and lighters? If the manuals were playboy lol
Whoever it was must have been a little OCD but not fully committed lol
How do these places go unnoticed for so long? It always baffles me?
For instance. How come the place doesn't get raided by the BBC licence dudes or council tax collectors? They seem to harass the rest of the country? 🤔🤦♂️😂👍🏼
Yes, the reason I contacted @anidiotexplores first. To me they are worthless, but not to others.
It could have been a few years, and this one is a little tucked away.
Well.. they would need to climb the 'No Children' fence to get in!
Almost spat my tea out. 😂😂👍🏼
This is a goody! It's still so intact, let's hope it stays that way. I also got worried when I saw the orange Vauxhaul...it seemed to have less grime on it from afar than most other things there.
It looks like he was struggling to keep abreast with life to be honest - not the best kind of existence when you are eating directly out of tins and then not even disposing of them.
Glad there were no Dobermans waiting to maul you.
A lot of explores are tense, I get the willies when approaching the destination quite often. It's what makes it exciting.
That's incredible! I can't ever fathom out why a place would be just walked away from. It's like the Marie Celeste...except it's not a boat.
Dead or maybe jail?
Really enjoyed this one...the XJS was good.....but. Rascal in red! That's rare :-)
LOL, is it? I was never a car person.
Lung cancer maybe, it was always going to happen.
Lol but not lol....had to be. I think you're probably right. Get googling the obits, I wouldn't be able to leave it and the back stories would always be more interesting to me. That said, I am a bit of a gossip ;-)
Just for you.., I found him. If he's alive then he's 86 years old.
Ahhh what a shame. Poor old fella.
Another great tour! I always enjoy looking through these.
They are more fun to experience!
I'm amazed at how you are able to keep finding new locations... and don't run out of places to explore.🤷♂️
There's plenty more in the bag for probably at least 6-7 months. I am this Sunday doing some more.
I still think you are incredibly brave. Imagining the fellow with the crowbar....
I suspect Mr Robertson is currently residing at His Majesty's pleasure. I've known several owners of such garage style over the years. Dubiously acquired vehicles and dodgy MOT certs seem to be specialities of the type of place.
Could be, I know other explores have been a consequence of the ex-residents now being in HMP.
I'm guessing he was a fan of nature programmes, particularly giraffes - hence the two TVs stacked on top of each other.
Nice find - glad to see the vandals havent descended yet !
There was likely porn under all that crap somewhere, it goes without reason!
That was a more intresting article then im use to. But still a good read and very interesting to see the photos of something lefted to die
It might be already dead by now, this explorer was from last summer.
What a mess they got back there. Aaah, I could smell those cigarette butts.
By the way, can a farm be considered as urban too?
Better knows as Rurex, yes.., I consider it the same. It is exploring.
Do you think a homeless person lives in the caravan? I am amazed at how quickly buildings decay once they have been abandoned. A fascinating exploit thanks for taking the 'risks' to bring us this report.
It's too hard to get in and out, and is hardly central. Nobody lives there anymore.
Behind the wild growth, ramshackle garage with evidence it once worked not too long ago.
Mr Robinson too busy to bother with cleanliness perhaps he's buried on the grounds with dobermans escaping to find a decent home.
Now to sleep at night.
!BEER
He's now 86 years old (I looked), and after smoking all those fags.. likely dead!
Well if fags don't get you something else will.
At least fags you administered to yourself and enjoyed, others are released into the world that are plain rotten, so I have come to learn. Enjoy life, whatever turns you on 🙃

The Decaying Carrage has a lot of stories and experiences to offer by just looking at the items found there.
I do not know if it is just me but I can still perceive beauty in damage and wrecked things. As for me, they have a rich story to tell, onl, they are waiting for somebody to unveil and share.☺️
'Precious' is not a word I would use, but there are items of value here. That is the reason I chose not to name it.
