Palace complex "Sapeg" in Ruzhany

Today I want to share about one wonderful place in Belarus where I managed to visit 3 years ago. The Ruzhany Palace is a magnificent architectural monument of the 18th century in the style of late classicism. It is often called the "Belarusian Versailles" because it was built in the likeness of the world-famous palace.

For me personally, this is a place of power. It is here that the spirit of history, the spirit of this place, is felt. The palace complex is being reconstructed, this is definitely good and it needs to be done, but it is these brick half-ruins that attract people here. At the moment, two outbuildings and entrance gates have been restored. Four exhibition halls and one exhibition hall are open to visitors.

In the western wing there is an exposition dedicated to the history of the town of Ruzhany, the main residence of the Sapieha family, as well as the exposition hall "The Chancellor's Living Room", where theatrical historical reconstructions are held in the interiors of the 17th-18th centuries.

Fortunately, you can get into the territory of the palace complex without problems, the entrance is open to everyone. And once inside, you immediately understand why Ruzhany is called "Belarusian Versailles". Despite the destruction, the palace still amazes with its beauty and grandeur.

The children in the photo below are local savvy guys who, for a small fee, are ready to take a tour around the palace and talk about the Sapieha family. I don’t know how well they do, but I saw one couple agree.

It is definitely worth going here to see this beauty. But taking a photo without people is not always possible, there is a very large flow of tourists.
