Yesterday I was able to take advantage of a beautiful Sunday evening by taking a hike on the Chedoke trail in the west end of Hamilton Ont. While walking I remembered that there is a tunnel at the top of one of the waterfalls along the trail, this is a tunnel that I almost lost my life trying to get to in the winter.
It is a very difficult climb to reach the opening and it was covered with ice, for some reason a friend and I thought we could do it. Long story short, we almost made it but I slipped and took a very bad fall. Thankfully I wasn't hurt and walked away from it.
After looking for a semi safe way up the escarpment for a while, I finally worked my way up to the tunnel!
Since I wasn't prepared for a tunnel explore (foot wear etc) I didn't go that far inside before turning around and making my way back down the escarpment. Ending up where the remains of an old shelter is and right beside Westcliffe waterfall.
After an exhausting adventure the relaxing walk down Chedoke trail at dusk was a perfect way to end this adventure off!
