Sun Food Corner is the cafeteria in an office building, located right besides of Petaling Jaya Hilton hotel. Its a family restaurant business operate in Menara MCIS since 2019. Within one short hear, they have established fame around this region for being great tea, great cooking and hospitality.

太陽小食是一家家庭式經營的小餐館。他們在八打靈市希爾頓大酒店隔壁的一座建築物裡面設立的飯堂,自2019年開始至今已經差不多一年了。雖然時間短暫,但是卻在這個區域打響了名堂,以拉茶,美味食品,價格公道和服務態度制勝。

I'm gonna share with you one of their famous dessert "kuih gulung", literally translate as folding dessert. At first, chef will set a flat pan on medium heat, and make a thin slice of green colour pan cake. The reason it's green are from the pandan leaf.

今天要給大家介紹的是他們得意甜品,“龜古龍”馬來文讀音,翻譯成中文的意思是卷餅。首先,廚師會將鐵板加熱,然後將預先加工好的麵粉做成薄薄一片的青色煎餅,聽說顏色是斑斕葉的葉綠素所造成的。

They usually assign more than 1 person to make this dish, part of the reason is due to sanitary. Wearing glove is a must when doing the folding of the green pancakes, but having the glove on top of a hot pan is usually a recipe of disaster. So, nope. You don't want the chef taking off the gloves and wearing a gloves in the transition of making and folding the pancakes.

通常他們都會有多過一個廚師同時幹活。主要目的是衛生,因為將捲餅卷起來的時候必須戴上手套。但是,在鐵板上煎那個煎餅的時候如果戴上手套又會溶掉,搞不好燃燒起來就悲劇了。所以,兩個人做,一個不戴手套的煎餅,一個戴手套的負責捲餅,這樣就免去又戴套又除套的麻煩。

The bowl on the left in the picture is a bowl of coconut bids made of the old coconut flesh. Grind it down to slices and soak them in coconut caramel sugar and there you have the filling.

左邊那一盤就是老椰子的果肉。老椰子的果肉很硬、很幹,很難直接食用,所以將椰肉用來刨絲,然後醃進椰糖,焦糖就會將椰味帶出來,這樣我們的青色捲餅就有餡了。

Chef will then put in the coconut fillings at the middle of the pancake, spread it across, fold the sides and roll it to become a proper wrapping.

廚師會將餡料夾在煎餅中央,然後將餅皮兩邊褶起來,然後用餅皮將餡料完全包裹起來,好像弄春捲一樣。

Once done folding, food will be set aside into a food tray and ready to serve. As you can see, it's a tedious preparation work and not many willing to show you the process of making it. Its very hard to get fresh make dessert nowadays.

捲餅弄好了最後,廚師將已經準備好的食品放進一個盛裡,然後準備上桌。以上你都看到,準備其實不是很難,不過衛生方面就會很麻煩。所以,一般很難看到廚師公開做這種甜品,免得被捉到沒有帶手套。

If you happen to visit this area, do arrange to visit this place by 2:30 in the afternoon, because the usual tea break will be 3pm. You'll be able to catch these the "kuih gulung" fresh.

假如你有機會來這附近辦事,記得安排下午兩點半過來。因為這裡三點是下午茶時間,而兩點半他們一般都正在準備這些甜品,這樣你就能品嚐到新鮮出爐的“龜古龍”了。
