Boating in Ritsurin Garden | 泛舟栗林公园

The koi fish in the ponds in my last post reminds me of the Ritsurin Garden in Japan. So, today let's have a boating tour in this beautiful place.

Located in the city of Takamatsu, Kagawa Prefecture, the large strolling garden has been designated as a special national attraction and is part of Takamatsu's historical and cultural route.

The views in the garden change with the seasons, and I visited it in early autumn, as you can probably see from my photos here. The yellow and orange foliage complemented the green ponds and blue grey houses in traditional style. Touring in the garden felt like going through a gorgeous landscape painting. Each turn revealed a new scene with all the matching layers.

The garden has six ponds, and the wooden bridge and boat in my head photo are from Nan-ko (Southern Lake), where boat tours had been available since Edo's time.

Aside from the ponds, the garden is dotted with artificial hills and pine trees. Mt. Shiun on the west side is visible while walking or boating around the garden. In the centre of the garden, there is also a multipurpose Commerce and Industry Hall and folk craft galleries displaying the local art and specialties.

上次的池塘锦鲤让我想起日本的栗林公园，那里的池塘里有很多鲤鱼。这个美丽的庭园位于香川县的高松市，被指定为特别名胜，也是高松历史文化道的一部分。

四季美景各不相同，而我是初秋时节去的，可以从这些照片里看到: 部分枫叶🍁已经变为橙黄色，跟碧绿的池塘和蓝灰的小桥和房子相映成趣。

园子里共有6个池塘，我题图里拍的和船和木桥就在其中的南湖，这个湖自从江户时代就开始设游船观景活动。

庭园里还点缀着假山和松树樱树梅树等花草树木。在园里散步或划船的时候，很多角落都能看到西边的紫云山。中心处有一个售卖土特产的多功能商工奖励馆，和几间展示香川县工艺品的民间工艺美术馆。
