Wandering through Modena's Old Town | 摩德纳老城漫游

Greetings, fellow Hivers! Today, I'd like to take you on a visual tour of Modena's old town, which is located in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy. Unlike some other very popular Italian towns such as Rome, Milan, or Florence, Modena is less packed with visitors but yet provides us with architectural marvels and alluring streets.

Strolling through Modena's historic centre, you'll encounter charming squares such as Piazza Grande, the city's beating heart. The impressive cathedral you see is Duomo di Modena. This UNESCO World Heritage site boasts a striking façade adorned with intricate carvings, sculptures, and elegant rose windows. The bell tower Torre Ghirlandina standing beside the cathedral offers a panoramic view of the city and the surrounding countryside.

The city's narrow side streets, known as "vicoli," are also a delight to wander through. These alleys are lined with colourful buildings, ancient houses, and quaint shops, offering a glimpse into the everyday life of the locals. As I walked through the lively streets, I was captivated by the rich history that oozed from every corner. The city's well-preserved medieval and Renaissance architecture created an ambiance that transported me to a bygone era.

前两篇说到意大利古城摩德纳，这次接着来看看它老城区的多彩街道和建筑。

想起来在罗马米兰佛罗伦萨等意大利名城，总是人山人海，尤其夏天的时候，取的景里大都是人头，也没什么心情拍照。而徜徉在这种不太出名、相对袖珍的古城则十分惬意，没有众多游客，可以自由穿梭。

中心广场的摩德纳大教堂很显眼，旁边高高的钟楼顶端曾经出现在那条彩虹伞街道的尽头。很喜欢这些罗马式的老建筑，看上去比较古朴沉静，不像哥特建筑常常有种阴森凌厉的感觉。

可惜只在摩德纳呆了一天多，还没来得及去新城区欣赏那些现代建筑，希望下次有机会也可以看看恩佐·法拉利博物馆和他的经典设计。
