Food Sharing #170 - Shanghai Red @ Melbourne | Travelgirl 美食推介 - Shanghai Red

Hi Everyone,

We have been recommended to try out if we ever go to Chadstone as not only their servings are huge but the food also is pretty decent. I wasn’t sure about having Chinese food there considering there are so many choices at the centre but thought why not, we can always go to Melbourne again to try other things. We got there just before it opened and there as already a line - that’s a good sign!

去墨爾本之前有朋友提過如果去行 Chadstone 商場要試一家上海餐館. 在悉尼我們經常食上海菜所以不是很想尤其是商場裡有那麼多東西可以選擇但既然朋友推介都可以試一次. 因為商場比較大找到餐館之後就看見已經有一條人龍排隊等餐館開門.

The restaurant was pretty big and we were given a long table as there a few of us. Let’s check out the menu. Our main goal is to order some noodles for the kids as they love the their carbs. There are loads of choices and the below is just a few of the pages from the menu. We ordered a plate of Shanghai noodles (Aka dirty noodles to my kids as the noodles are not white), a large soup dumpling, braised pork, a chicken herbal soup & a ham & veggie fried rice for the family to share. We did also order some dumplings for the table and our friends just chose what they wanted themselves.

這間餐館裡面比較大而因為我們有朋友一齊所以他們安排了一張長枱給我們坐. 先看看一部份的餐牌. 來到上海餐廳就一定要叫上海粗炒給我兩個小朋友吃. 然後我們還叫了一特大小籠包，紅燒肉，燉雞湯和一份鹹肉菜炒飯.我們還有叫了兩籠小籠包跟朋友吃.

The food pretty quickly and everything came at once. The servings were huge. Not exaggerating but they are big. I kind of wish the waiter could have told us we maybe ordered too much but being an Asian restaurant most of them don’t care. The food overall was delicious. I was glad we actually followed our friend’s recommendation and tried this place. The soup came out nice and hot which I love with very little msg. The kids were very satisfied with the noodle and rice dish. The braised pork was delicious and love the fact they gave us lots of veggies at the bottom to flush down the fat.

這間餐館上菜非常之快而且份量原來好多. 每一樣菜的份量都非常大，其實為什麼幫我們落單這個是應不告訴我們已經叫了太多餐呢. 總括來講味道非常之好而之前有提過份量大所以看起來好抵食.我的燉湯出來的時候非常熱好好飲.我小朋友叫的上海粗炒都好好味，兩個小朋友把整碟麵吃完.紅燒肉分量多味道剛剛好而且下面放了好多菜，非常適合我們一家吃

My kids love the small dumplings but seeing the jumbo dumpling their eyes opened up. They gave us the straw to suck the soup out from the inside first and then eat the dumpling. We have them in Sydney but they aren’t as big even though they may say it’s big on the menu. It was a nice novelty dish for the kids and the adults just ended up finishing the dumplings as they prefer the small ones. Service was not that great so don’t expect much. Price wise is great considering the size of the dishes you get.

最後就是這個特大小籠包. 悉尼其實有這類特大小籠包但沒有這個大所以兩個小朋友看見都非常之好奇.餐館給了我們一支飲管讓我們慢慢喝這個湯.最後這個特大小籠包都是我們吃的因為兩個小朋友覺得太大沒有平常小籠包那麼好吃.這間餐館的服務非常一般而價錢方面就可以接受因為每個菜的份量大不會覺得太貴.
