Life is made up of all those beautiful moments we have, strung together to make our story. More than I can remember, truth be told. Then out of nowhere, a voice calls out in the dark, reminding me of my yesterdays in time. I kiss them au revoir and roll over into the bliss of the shadows. Until we meet again. Until we meet again.
All I have are my words, armed in my mind, written in pen, stand by stand. Oh, yes. Still by hand. It has a different feel. Altered not by keys, backspace, and delete, I write, erase, tear it to pieces and start all over again. And again.
It’s my way. I walk out to the deep end of the page and dive right in.
I stumble across this without the admission of refinement, yet, the fascination I have belongs to the charm and artistry it exudes, giving way to my distraction. The splendor of my day had vanished into the sunset. Beautiful, yet fleeting.

Time certainly does fly. I am preparing a package for an old friend in San Antonio, I saw some kitchen towels with dogs on them, but, they were dressed up with Halloween costumes. She used to dress hers up as the neighborhood kids would get a charge out of it! I know she will look at these and remember. I guess it is what we do, yes? The dog is long gone, but, the memories, I still smile when I think of Skippy. He smiled when he saw you and he had an overbite. What a looker! LOL
VacaWednesday! That should be a song! I probably wouldn't stay home! You can do that any day. Do a drop-in on your mom and bring lunch. Go to the thrift shop. I did yesterday and brought some things to fill their shelves. It was Salvation and Goodwill. Both got a little. I also went to the Sunflower Farm, which, by the way, thanks to you, I have been getting passees for the season, to the tune of free flowers! I had no idea that there was a beast out here like that. And there are many! They are very generous with the free flowers!!! That is why I spread them around. I love it! And thanks to you! ❤️
Anyway, break out of that place and do something fun today! Go get some fresher air or buy some fun somewhere. Take mom! She needs to break out too.

Cats are fascinated with about anything that moves as I'm positive you already know, but it only makes since that fluttery birds would be attractive.
I'm sure your friend in San Antonio will get a big smile on her face when she opens your fun package.
I'm not sure why more people haven't adopted the Vaca Wednesday idea. Well... I guess I know mostly why, because a Friday or a Monday makes for a nice long weekend. That is fun too, but I normally don't have to fight anyone for my Wednesdays. Fridays on the other hand, you better ask off early ! I know we are all different, but you know I accidently stumbled across the idea and liked it and it has worked very well for me.
I might break out in a bit. I am lazily sipping coffee and just beginning to gather my ducks and see which order they might fit into this day. Fortunately, some others are also remembering to include Mom in things, so although she is not on the run all the time (and she doesn't really want to be)... she is getting invited to do things with various family members, so it is working out pretty good for her. She also doesn't mind jumping in the car and driving into town for a few errands herself.
Here she is last week. My brother Mark works at Honda Jet and they had an employee open house where their employees could bring a very limited number of guests. Doesn't she look sassy ?! Of course Honda makes more than jets and there were other items around for folks to view up close, but these are built at this plant.
Ha!! How fun!! She does look quite sassy there!! Who wouldn't be? That picture is your future! She looks exactly how I picture you looking at her age. All spunky and living life large. She is awesome. Truly. It is nice you dont have to worry about her every minute and even nicer that so many are pitching in and including her in their lives. It seems like a no brainercas we all love our moms, but it takes effort to open up your life and make a spot.
The cup is fun. The dish set had flowers at the rim and a little more delicate than my normal ones. I got them in Italy years back in a little town close to Venice called Nove. They make all sorts of ceramic flowers that look real. Capidemonti. The entire town makes it! You drive up to the houses marked with that label and they come out and open their garage! No kidding! They wrapped them up really well and the made it back to Aviano in one piece!
I get the Wednesday vaca day. It makes perfect sense. I was one of the sheep that asked for Thursday/Friday or Friday/Monday. You were smart! I hope you have a fun day, whatever you do!

She looks like she is humting, but she is only just there for a few minutes as she is a house cat and I allow her to be out with me when I am filling up the fountain and the birdbath. I should have thought twice before putting that up!

It's a great time to bevthere, cooler in temperatures and the tourists arecall but gone after Lsbor Day. That is the first Monday in September. If you get a chance, dont miss Boston. One of my mist favorite cities in the US. - especially for architecture, history and you learn so much about the country! So many firsts were here!

Yes, those are a few of the reasons to go… better temperatures than down here in the heat. A little relieve from all and foremost an exploration trip. We set up base to cover all areas we looked into with a short drive.
We will land in Boston, get a rental car and drive to Worcester for 1 night. The next day we go further to the western part, all the way to the Berkshires. We explore all of that area for 10 nights, maybe even hop over a little to The surrounding States. Than back to Boston to spend the last 4 days there 💃🏻💃🏻😎 I sure wouldn’t miss Boston, it has been on our list to visit for ever 😉

The Berkshires have a lot there, especially in the realm of nature and cultural arts. You will have fun. As far as leaf peeping, October is peak fall foliage time in the Berkshires. The trees may pop a little color, but the season normally begins in late September and peaks in mid-October

We used to have quite a few stray cats around our house and in the woods. I haven't seen one in quite some time though. Mostly rabbits, but they don't really do much to take care of the mouse population. I wish the cats would come back. We had owls one year too and virtually no mice that year. Beautiful shots!
They were probably picked up by animal control. I like cats and bring them back and forth with us to the Shore House. They travel well. My neighbors have chickens, but, in all the time owning that house and all the time spent empty (knock on wood) never have had a mouse. I cannot believe it and am very happy with that. Rodents make me scream like a little girl.
Seriously. I don't try for it, it comes out of nowhere. LOL

I was going to build some owl houses at one point, but the woods behind our house ended up getting sold and my access to it went away.
I remember you saying someone bought it. What a bummer. I think I want to buy enough land surrounding my house that nobody can do that. I guess it is okay if you build in a community and you have lots of neighbors, but, when you have perceived peace and space, it ruins the ambiance.
The plan was to make enough in crypto that I could just buy the land myself, but they were asking way more for the land than I thought it was worth and the way the crypto markets have been, it just wasn't in the cards...
I'm surecthe answer to that will reveal itself sooner or later. Maybe another opportunity is out there.
Who knows, right?

She is an indoor cat, she prefers to be in. You can walk right up to her and pick her up. I have seen my neighbor's cat doing the 20-yard dash, chasing her down!

I let them out and monitor her. I don't allow her to harm the wildlife, or I bring her in. She doesn't roam, she is a homebody and a 99% indoor cat.
