Some lovely flyers here.

I will show you some different birds in flight and I think that the Heron is the neatest flyer.

Look above how neatly the Heron keeps his feet together in line with his head.

Our new house might not have a lovely mountain view, but it has a wide expanse of blue sky that gets very busy with birds in flight. So, I decided to show you what I took this morning before the workers arrived.
I have twice also, fleetingly, seen a Sparrow hawk hunting doves in the treetops here, and I hope to get him on camera soon.
But for now, come and have a look at the flyers.

First up were six Egyptian Geese coming over.

And now for some Pied Crows in flight.

The thing that I like about the crows, is that they are masters of the winds and during very strong winds, the only winds to be seen in the sky would be the crows.

Always great to watch the games that the crows play and they are very intelligent birds. A year or three ago, I posted a trick by the crows where they would land on a very thin top branch of a tree. As they grabbed the branch with their claws, the branch would bend like a whiplash and flip the crow back up into the air. There were about 10 crows each taking a turn to be flipped up, and it was amazing and fun to watch.
The crows actually enjoy flying and they look so formal in their black suits and their white ties.

The geese, however, can only fly from point A to point B and I think that it would be suicidal for them to try any tricks like the crows do when they are up there.
