Visiting family and friends in Buenos Aires: a blessing to see more loved ones

Hello my dear friends of Pinmapple!! I hope you are having a beautiful day. On this occasion I come to talk to you about Buenos Aires, the capital of Argentina, that city that is already capturing hearts and that has managed to find a place in series, movies and songs from different parts of the world.

Buenos Aires, the heart of Argentine tango and art, had me visit for 6 days, which, although they had a bureaucratic objective, ended up bringing out the purest part of me, which is my traveling essence.

I had been working for a long time and preparing my material, the result of my 10 months in Europe and Israel, but this time I will take a break and spend a few days in Buenos Aires, because there is no way to immerse yourself in the fresh photographic archives, with memory thirsty to dump every detail to a publication. So my friends across the Hive, let's take a walk through this city and my days there.

In this case, we will talk about my ties, friends and family that I have in those places and that I had not seen for a long time. Also, I met some hivers, something that was a gift from this getaway.

Although my family is from there and we have always seen each other for a short time, one of my best friends, Luci, went to live in Buenos Aires with her boyfriend in 2021, so between her move and my trip of almost a year, we we saw very little time.

Also, going back to my family, in the time we haven't seen each other, two beautiful babies were born, a girl who is 2 years old today and a little boy who is only a month and a half old.

Visitando a familia y amigos en Buenos Aires: una bendición el ver a más seres queridos

Hola mis queridos amigos de Pinmapple!! Espero que estén pasando un hermoso día. En esta ocasión vengo a hablarles de Buenos Aires, la capital de Argentina, esa ciudad que ya está acaparando corazones y que se ha sabido hacer un lugar en series, películas y canciones de diferentes partes del mundo.

Buenos Aires, el corazón del tango y del arte argentinos, me tuvo de visita por 6 días, que aunque tenían un objetivo burocrático, terminaron por sacar lo más puro de mi, que es mi esencia viajera.

Llevaba ya un buen tiempo trabajando y preparando mi material resultado de mis 10 meses por Europa e Israel, pero en esta ocasión haré una pausa y me dedicaré unos días a Buenos Aires, pues no hay como sumergirse en los archivos fotográficos frescos, con la memoria sedienta de volcar cada detalle a una publicación. Así que mis amigos de todo Hive, vamos a pasear por esta ciudad y por mis días allí.

En este caso, hablaremos de mis vínculos, de amigos y familia que tengo por aquellos lugares y que hacía bastante tiempo que no veía. Además, conocí a algunos hivers, algo que fue un regalo de esta escapada.

Aunque mi familia es de allá y siempre nos hemos visto poco tiempo, una de mis mejores amigas, Luci, se fue a vivir a Buenos Aires con su novio en 2021, por lo que entre su mudanza y mi viaje de casi un año, nos vimos muy poco tiempo.

Además, volviendo al tema de mi familia, en el tiempo que no nos hemos visto, nacieron dos hermosos bebés, una niña que hoy ya tiene 2 años y un pequeño que tiene tan solo un mes y medio.

Of course, I took advantage of this getaway to see them, and at the same time to enjoy with my father, who, although he stayed in another place and traveled on different flights, offered to accompany me to the Argentine Customs, which is where I had to recover my luggage, which it didn't happen. Likewise, as you can see, the trip had its fruits due to other causes, which are based on very beautiful moments based on sharing.

In the photos you can see me together with Luci, a great friend and also a colleague (she is also a Geographer). We met in Recoleta and from there we walked to Palermo Hollywood, where we found ourselves in a bar called Jerome, who, although he is a native of Mendoza, is more famous in Buenos Aires than in his own land.

We ate a picada with onion rings, mozzarella sticks, potatoes, and more, and in fact I invited her, since she and her boyfriend helped me find out about issues related to my suitcase at the Ezeiza airport. We had a great time and caught up.

Speaking of friends, I was also blessed to meet some hivers, which I already mentioned in a post made especially for them. They wanted these beautiful people to be the ones to open my posts about Buenos Aires, since as a Hive family, they are a big part of my day to day. I do not want to be repetitive and that is why I will leave the link to the corresponding publication.

Claro que aproveché esta escapada para verlos, y al mismo tiempo para disfrutar con mi papá, que aunque se hoispedó en otro lugar y viajó en vuelos diferentes, se ofreció a acompañarme a la Aduana argentina que es en donde debía recuperar mi equipaje, cosa que no ocurrió. Igualmente como pueden ver, el viaje tuvo sus frutos debido a otras causas, que se basan en momentos muy hermosos con fundamento en el compartir.

En las fotos pueden ver mi juntada con Luci, una gran amiga y además colega (también es Geógrafa). Nos juntamos en Recoleta y de allí caminamos hasta Palermo Hollywood, en donde nos ubicamos en un bar llamado Jerome, que aunque es oriundo de Mendoza, tiene más fama en Buenos Aires que en su propia tierra.

Comimos una picada con aros de cebolla, bastones de mozzarella, papas, y más, y de hecho la invité, ya que ella y su novio me ayudaron a averiguar cuestiones vinculadas con mi maleta en el aeropuerto de Ezeiza. Pasamos un gran momento y nos pusimos al día.

Hablando de amigos, también tuve la bendición de conocer a algunos hivers, que ya mencioné en una publicación hecha especialmente para ellos. Querían que fueran estas bellas personas quienes abrieran mis publicaciones referidas a Buenos Aires, ya que como familia de Hive, son una gran parte de mi día a día. No quiero ser reiterativa y por eso dejaré el link hacia la publicación correspondiente.

In that almost week in Buenos Aires, when we went with my father to visit my family, we realized that a subway practically left us at the door of an aunt's apartment. So happy with the news, we went to Norma's and her husband's house, where her daughter Verónica was, her husband Facundo, and the two little new members of the family: Isabella and Emanuel. There was also Julián, another of Norma's grandsons.

We were only there for one afternoon, because Vero, between the newborn baby and La Niña, who was somewhat jealous of his little brother, didn't have much chance to talk to us. In fact, when Facundo arrived, he helped a lot to the harmony of that snack, but the talk was also difficult.

Beyond this, we were all very happy to see each other, and although another part of the family remained unvisited, it was nice to at least chat with some of them.

En esa casi semana en tierra porteña, cuando fuimos con mi padre a visitar a mi familia, nos dimos cuenta de que un subte nos dejaba prácticamente en la puerta del departamento de una tía. Así que felices por la noticia, fuimos hacia la casa de Norma y su marido, en donde estaba su hija Verónica, su esposo Facundo, y los dos pequeños nuevos integrantes de la familia: Isabella y Emanuel. Además estaba Julián, otro nieto de Norma.

Estuvimos allí tan solo una tarde, porque Vero, entre el bebé recién nacido y La Niña que estaba algo celosa de su hermanito, no tenía demasiada posibilidad de hablar con nosotros. De hecho cuando llegó Facundo, ayudó bastante a la armonía de aquella merienda, pero igualmente fue difícil la charla.

Más allá de esto, estuvimos todos muy felices de vernos, y aunque quedó otra parte de la familia sin visitar, fue lindo al menos charlar con algunos.

The one who wins the jackpot anyway is my father, who even though I asked him to leave me alone for a few days because he needed to connect with me, he joined many outings. He accompanied me to Puerto Madero, to Café Tortoni, to San Telmo and to several other mini-breaks around the city, added of course, the almost whole day it took us to go to Ezeiza airport with talks at Customs and at DHL.

Quien se lleva el premio gordo de todas maneras, es mi padre, que aunque le pedí que me dejara sola algunos días porque tenía la necesidad de conectarme conmigo, se sumó a muchas salidas. Me acompañó a Puerto Madero, al café Tortoni, a San Telmo y a varias otras mini escapadas por la ciudad, sumado por supuesto, el casi día entero que nos tomó la ida al aeropuerto de Ezeiza con la charla en la Aduana y en DHL.

This trip reminded me how beautiful it is to enjoy being with loved ones, even for a moment and even if one has a somewhat more introspective personality. There is always something to learn, there is always something to teach and there is always a new memory to build.
