REMEMBERING MY FATHER-IN-LAW'S 1st DEATH ANNIVERSARY!

"The physical presence of a loved one may pass away but the memories will remain unforgotten as families come together to cherish." - Unknown

A big HELLO to all my wonderful friends of the Hive! I hope you and your family are all fine and kicking today. With regards to family, family-oriented people like ours are quite sentimental and devoted to family gatherings such as the death anniversary of a loved one.

As of today, I will be sharing with you how we remembered the 1st death anniversary of my father-in-law last Friday. It was a day full of stories, memories, and tears - not tears of sadness but tears of acceptance and letting go.

It was a fine Friday morning. I took my one-day absence from work. The sun was up and we enjoyed the amazing view on the way to the cemetery. It was located approximately 500 meters away from the national highway.

A very intimate occasion wherein we only had close family members present. When we all arrived there, we offered prayers and candles. We had short talks and shared memorable stories and with tears, we agreed to let go of the painful memories and offered everything to the Almighty creator.

It was the first death anniversary of the head of the family who had been a liver cancer casualty. He was diagnosed in December 2021, and unfortunately, it was stage 4 cancer. It was one of the toughest moments of our extended family. My husband and I voluntarily did our counterpart in supporting him in any way we could for his medication financially, spiritually, and emotionally.

His death affected me the most because he treated me in their family as his real daughter. He'd been very kind to me and to my family back then. I did not say that I am the favourite daughter-in-law but among others, he listened to me more. Honestly, he didn't listen to my husband and siblings when they encouraged him to go to the doctor and underwent medical laboratories back then because he said it would only waste money (He was sort of stubborn sometimes!). But when I told him to do so, he finally did right away!

On the other hand, we were thankful that he did not suffer long. I witnessed his three-month long-suffering and those times were excruciating moments😥. Wherever he is now, we genuinely pray that he may rest in peace.

I was grateful that despite the hot weather, my kids behaved and enjoyed their time playing inside the cab. At 11 AM, we decided to go home to have lunch all together.

Family members coming together is not complete without food. Whether big or small food preparations, it didn't matter what mattered most is that the food was happily shared by every one.

It was not a grandiose occasion however, it was one of the most memorable get-togethers of the family. Though my father-in-law left us early than expected I am personally grateful to him for raising a responsible son, my husband, who becomes a responsible father to my children as well.

With certainty, we will depart from this world but the memories and teachings we have will continue to live and can be passed through generations. Death is still an unsolved puzzle, however, let us not live our lives trying to solve that puzzle. Let us live our lives serving our purpose! At this very moment, my question is, HAVE YOU KNOWN YOUR PURPOSE?

Well, that's all for now my friends! I hope you have something to relate to from this post. I can't thank you enough for your time and support in my blogging journey since day one. Please know that I truly appreciate and cherish the love from all of you!

See ya next time then! GOD SPEED everyone! Big hugs!🤗💞
