Balancing the human experience

I read a phrase about the human experience today; I'd not like to share the actual text as it's deeply personal to me, although it made me think about my own human experience, my life of peaks and troughs. I was left smiling, not because my life has been one full of verdant valleys and flower-filled rolling hills; it has not. I was left smiling because my life is, meaning I am in it, and that means I am able to enjoy it, some at least.

I'll rarely complain about my life-experience and when I do it's more specific than just life. I might lament certain actions, events and occurrences, however life itself, in its entirety, has been a good experience generally and I'm lucky to have lived and learned throughout. my life has been more good than bad and I'm looking forward to more.

I believe the human experience we all have would be somewhat diminished if there were no rocky rough roads to traverse and navigate, no adversity to overcome. Would the glorious moments of life be as fulfilling, as deeply satisfying and wonderful, if we didn't have the occasional bad moment? Isn't laughing much better when it happens because at times we cry? I think it is.

I've climbed mountains and stood on the edge of what seemed like forever watching the vista below reaching out to the horizon in the distance. I've watched glorious sunsets there and felt truly alive and connected...But only after I climbed what, at first, had seemed an insurmountable obstacle, worked hard to ascend and find that place.

Traversing life isn't always the easiest and neither does it always present the best of experiences to us, however where light exists so does shadow and we cannot always reside solely within one alone. As one withdraws the other comes forth bringing with it balance to the human experience.

I took the image in this post myself.

What beautiful reflections you've shared, @becca-mac. I came to your post after @wesphilbin shared it in PYPT and I loved the image. It drew me in. I'm glad it did because your words matched it well. They were inspiring and uplifting, and I agreed with your sentiment:

smiling because my life is

Yes, to that! 💛

Hello Julia, thank you for looking at my post and taking the time to write a comment. I'm not sure what pypt is however it brought you here and that's ok by me. I'm pleased you like my image, it took me many tries to get it, and I'm also happy my words had some impact.

Have a nice weekend.

PYPT is best explained by the show's host, @shadowspub, and she does that on her blog. If you're interested, you can click here and it will take you to her last post about the show. Wes, who has left you a comment below, shared your post in the community 🙂.

Hope you have a nice weekend too. Julia 💛

Thank you for responding Julia, it's all a little clearer now. 🦋

I was left smiling because my life is, meaning I am in it

Yes. Yes. Yes. I am smiling right back. Such a thoughtful way of putting words, Becca - and then the photo! Divine. I am taking you home with me.

Have an amazing day! ❤️

Good to see you my friend! First most... I shared your post in #pypt at the @dreemport server. It was quite worthy, and I feel your energy needs to be shared!

Gosh! It's as if you had a hand in the creation of my community! Honestly though... it's like I have said; even a bad day, can be a thoughtful one! I can think of all the sayings that are attuned to this. But you have stated it better...

Hope you are having a good day today... the weekend is almost here! Keep sharing your energy... I know I'm not the only one who loves it...

Hello Wes, thank you for stopping by and for your lovely remarks. I'm glad you liked this post, it was written for a reason and had the desired effect on me; it's nice you liked it also though.

This has created the whole "true engagement" now hasn't it! In regards to PYPT... In simple terms... Everyone joins in. We get on voice. You share a post... your's, or someone else's. You don't "have" to get on voice... You can listen, or type in the "show text" channel. But it's a really cool way, to share your content. Or another person's content. You would have to stop by and see to experience it. It's called *Pimp Your Post Thursday or PYPT. Here... Check out Shadows YouTube:

Wow it's sharp 🤩🤩

What a gorgeous photo, @becca-mac! Yes, there is so much truth in what you shared — all the highs and lows go hand-in-hand.

Well said. I have always felt that way. I cannot imagine traveling on an even plane through life, never experiencing deep sadness or extreme joy. And we become more multi-dimensional and resilient by experiencing it all!

Thank you Jayna, I appreciate your compliment on my photo. I have to do macro shots as I only have a small garden but I think the effect works well.

Also, sanitising life isn't much of an option and so we have to walk paths that are not often ideal, enjoyable por comfortable. It's all we have though, life, and so we must take the journey as often as required and hope to gather some good experiences along with the bad.

Thanks for your comment.
