👁️ Bahia, promised land 💎

After having discovered a great part of my being me in those first initiation trips, the world was opening at my feet 🕸️ (You can read Sobre cómo me volví viajera 1
y 2 too).
After a few months in Buenos Aires I was supposed to leave again with friends; there is something about facing challenges as a team that fascinates me. However, they were new people after all the walking 👣, and the objectives and consequently the possible destinations were extremely varied. It's so crazy how every trip we seem to shed an old skin 🐍, like snakes, and become ready for the new.
For my part I knew that at the end of the year I would leave 🚀, I had no idea where to but it was clear that I wanted to continue living the magic of traveling without limits.

During my adolescence I began to feel an inexplicable connection with the Brazilian culture that took me from dancing, to becoming a facilitator of Brazilian dances for years and to start taking some percussion classes as well. In my time in Ecuador I even got a tattoo on my back marking that double love: Laugh, Love, Live next to a flower with the colors of Argentina 🇦🇷, and on the other side Força, Paixão, Liberdade -Strength, Passion and Freedom- with the colors of Brazil 🇧🇷. The paradoxical thing was that I had not yet stepped on that land, but I felt part of it. So, before choosing a place, I faced Salvador de Bahia 🌊; alone, another language and a world of experiences that I had not imagined to discover.

Sambareggae is a style of music that was born there as a product of the mix between reggae and samba 🥁. After years of experience with percussion and dance in the movement of the blocos afros 🖤, created among the people to make visible their struggle against racism, oppression and inequality, I traveled from Buenos Aires to Bahia for long periods until finally one day I faced the desire to stay and live permanently.

I will tell about my first carnival 🎉, and all that unfolds in a week of party, music and dance. But the story continues to share how I went on to travel in a van and accompanied 🚎👩❤️💋👨.

👁️ Bahia, tierra prometida 💎

Después de haber descubierto una gran parte de mi ser en esos primeros viajes iniciáticos el mundo se abría a mis pies 🕸️ (También puedes leer Sobre cómo me volví viajera 1y 2).
Pasados unos meses en Bs. As. suponía que volvería a partir junto con amigos; hay algo de afrontar desafíos en equipo que me fascina. Sin embargo, ellos eran nuevas personas después de todo lo caminado 👣, y los objetivos y en consecuencia los destinos posibles eran sumamente variados. Es muy loco como cada viaje parece que nos desprendemos de una vieja piel 🐍, como las serpientes, y quedamos listos para lo nuevo.
Por mi parte sabía que al finalizar el año partiría 🚀, no tenía idea a dónde pero estaba claro que quería seguir viviendo la magia de viajar sin límites.

Durante mi adolescencia comencé a sentir una conexión inexplicable con la cultura brasilera que me llevó desde danzar, hasta volverme facilitadora de danzas del estilo por años y empezar a tomar algunas clases de percusión también. En mi pasada por Ecuador inclusive me tatué la espalda marcando ese doble amor: Reir, Amar, Vivir junto a una flor con los colores de Argentina 🇦🇷, y del otro lado Força, Paixão, Liberdade -Fuerza, pasión y libertad- con los colores de Brasil 🇧🇷. Lo paradójico era que aún no habia pisado esa tierra, pero me sentía parte. Así fue como ante elegir un lugar, encaré a Salvador de Bahia 🌊; sola, otro idioma y un mundo de experiencias que no imaginaba por descubrir.

El sambareggae es un estilo de música que se gesta allí mismo como producto de la mistura entre el reggae y el samba 🥁. Trás años de experiencias con la percusión y danza en el movimiento de los blocos afros 🖤, gestado entre los pueblos para visibilizar su lucha contra el racismo, opresión y desigualdad, viajaba de Buenos Aires a Bahia por períodos largos hasta que finalmente un día afronté el deseo de quedarme a vivir establemente.

Ya contaré sobre mi primer carnaval 🎉, y todo lo que se despliega en una semana de fiesta, música y danza. Pero el relato continúa para compartir cómo pasé a viajar en una camioneta y acompañada 🚎👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨.

👁️ The perfect triad 🔼.

After a year of living in front of the beach, new paths were coming to encourage me to let go 🍃 everything and live another great adventure.

It was 2019 and the biggest cause of this 360° turn 🎈 was meeting Martin who was arriving to the city with 4 other friends, in a Volswaguen Kombi bought in Rio de Janeiro after working a good summer season. He from La Matanza, I from Villa del Parque (both from Buenos Aires), suddenly we met thousands of miles away from where we were born, and we fell in love almost at first sight 🥰. We began to share all our days and although his plan was to continue traveling, his stay was prolonged by my side.

Suddenly, one day he proposed me to start traveling together and perhaps he had no notion of what such a proposal was for this Sagittarian soul 🔥.
For my part I felt that Salvador was my home 🏠, but reconnecting with a travel companion to know and live new paradises, became totally tempting. I shouted yes, let's do it 🤝! And not only that, but I veryoffered that we buy a van with my savings, since I had become totally inspirated with the experiences he had lived; besides Brazil lent itself to be traveled with much enthusiasm by both of us who became lovers of his land ✳️.

And so this galactic trio was born. We were together 2 months ago, and we chose to keep getting to know each other as we went along. We work in the same company selling tours "CASSI Turismo", and although the owner offered us too tempting contracts 🙉 to stay the summer season as part of the stable team, our goal was very clear: to find the vehicle that would take us to travel the Brazilian coast 🏝️; although today we know that we want to know the world without limits, that was our first impulse 🌎.

👁️ La triada perfecta 🔼

Después de un año de vivir frente a la playa, nuevos caminos llegaban para animarme a soltar 🍃 todo y vivir otra gran aventura.

Era el año 2019 y el mayor causante de este giro de 360° 🎈 fue conocer a Martín quien llegaba a la ciudad junto a otros 4 amigos, en una Kombi Volswaguen comprada en Río de Janeiro luego de trabajar una buena temporada de verano. Él de La Matanza, yo de Villa del Parque (ambos oriundos de Buenos Aires), de repente nos conocíamos a miles de kms de donde nacimos, y nos enamoramos casi a primera vista 🥰. Comenzamos a compartir todos nuestros días y aunque su plan era continuar viajando, su estadía se prolongó a mi lado.

De repente, un día me propuso arrancar juntos a viajar y quizás él no tenía noción de lo que era tal propuesta para esta alma sagitariana 🔥.
Por mi parte sentía que Salvador era mi casa 🏠, pero volver a conectar con un compañero de viaje para conocer y vivir nuevos paraísos, se volvió totalmente tentador. Grite que si, que lo hagamos 🤝! Y no solo eso, sino que muy humildemente ofrecí que compremos una camioneta con mis ahorros, ya que me había contagiado totalmente con las experiencias que él había vivido; además Brasil se prestaba para ser recorrida con mucho entusiasmo por ambos que nos volvimos amantes de su tierra ✳️.

Y así nació este trio galáctico. Estabamos juntos hace 2 meses, y elegimos seguir conociendonos al andar. Trabajamos en la misma empresa vendiendo paseos "CASSI Turismo", y si bien el dueño nos ofrecía contratos demasiado tentadores 🙉 para permanecer la temporada de verano como parte del equipo estable, nuestro objetivo estaba clarísimo: dar con el vehículo que nos lleve a recorrer la costa Brasilera 🏝️; si bien hoy sabemos que queremos conocer el mundo sin límites, ese fue nuestro primer impulso 🌎.

The Kiki Queen 👑

Traveling everywhere, asking, visiting, and I who knew nothing about traveling by vehicle 😸, watching thousands of videos about how a van became a home, one day we found the one we later baptized as "The Kiki Queen". Made in Japan in 2000 🎀, at the time of purchase with 500,000 kms already traveled, it appeared before our eyes the queen herself; as with Martin it was love at first sight.

In truth I was still flowing and didn't understand much 👻, I was throwing all my plans that included a career as a tour guide, too well located house shared with a great friend, and pass my belongings to adapt to a motorhome.

Once we got Tincho's papers up to date (in Argentina all Martin's are also called that), for resident ✔️, we took care of doing the paperwork for the camio. The bureaucracy in Bahia was not easy, but after many days of visiting the offices of DETRAN 😵 (the entity that regulates vehicles), we managed to get it registered in my name: pure joy 🦄.

Now, as well as we bought it first we prepared it mechanically⚙️, it received new front axle and alternator. The legs (wheels) were still good enough to run for a long time. We removed the seats, and the van was left. We loaded all my belongings, which were quite a lot, the little bag of my new road companion and we went out 💥. We put some cardboard on the windows and to make the interior of the van, we preferred to do it traveling: we went to Buenos Aires 🛣️. Tincho hadn't seen his family for 2 years, and together with his dad who also knows how to do absolutely everything with his hands, they could prepare it at home👷.

It was 4500kms done in 9 days. The first night between heat and mosquitoes, was forgotten. The following days it took me to adapt to living on wheels, I felt I was "in danger" before the road all the time... Fear is born in our reptilian brain, with thousands of years of ancestors makes us feel that we are facing life and death situations, and such extreme generates a lot of anxiety 🚨. Finding comfort and security took some time, but here we are and I feel more nomadic and happy than ever 🕊️.
We arrived as a surprise and each reunion was very exciting for everyone! We stayed 2 months with pure argentinian food, family warmth, and camperization. We assembled kitchen furniture, bed, closet, floor, and luggage rack ⚒️. We felt ready for anything!

From that 2019 until the beginning of the pandemic we traveled along the Brazilian and Venezuelan coast 💫. I invite you to follow me to meet them too, in the next posts ✒️.

La Kiki Queen 👑

Recorriendo por todas partes, preguntando, visitando, y yo que no sabía nada de viajar en vehículo 😸, mirando miles de videos sobre como una camioneta se convertía en casa, un día dimos con la que luego bautizamos como "La Kiki Queen". Hecha en Japón en el año 2000 🎀, al momento de la compra con 500.000 kms ya recorridos, se presentaba ante nuestros ojos la mismísima reina; al igual que con Martin fue amor a primera vista.

En verdad yo seguía fluyendo y no entendía mucho 👻, estaba largando todos mis planes que incluían carrera de guia turística, casa demasiado bien ubicada compartida con una gran amiga, y pasar mis pertenencias para adaptarse a un motorhome.

Una vez que pusimos al día los papeles de Tincho (en Argentina a todos los Martín se les dice también así), para residente ✔️, nos encargamos de hacer el papeleo de la camio. Nada fácil la burocracia en Bahia, pero después de muchos días de visitar las oficinas del DETRAN 😵(ente que regula los vehículos), conseguimos patentarla a mi nombre: alegría pura 🦄.

Ahora bien, así como la compramos primero la preparamos mecánicamente⚙️, recibió tren delantero y alternador nuevo. Las patas (ruedas) todavía daban para rodar un buen tiempo más. Le quitamos los asientos, y quedó furgón. Cargamos todas mis pertenencias que eran bastantes, el bolsito de mi nuevo compañero de ruta y salimos a la calle 💥. Pusimos unos cartones en las ventanas y para confeccionar el interior de la van, pteferimos hacerlo viajando: nos fuimos a Buenos Aires 🛣️. Tincho no veía a su familia hace 2 años, y junto con su papá que también sabe hacer absolutamente todo con sus manos, podrían prepararla en su casa👷.

Fueron 4500kms hechos en 9 días. La primer noche entre calor y mosquitos, quedó para el olvido. Los días siguientes me llevó adaptarme a vivir sobre ruedas, sentía que estaba "en peligro" ante la ruta todo el tiempo... El miedo nace en nuestro cerebro reptiliano, con miles de años de antepasados nos hace sentir que estamos ante situaciones de vida o muerte, y tal extremo genera mucha ansiedad 🚨. Encontrarme comoda y segura llevo su proceso, pero aquí estamos y me siento más nómade y felíz que nunca 🕊️.
Llegamos de sorpresa y fue muy emocionante cada reencuentro para todos! Permanecimos 2 meses a pura comida argenta, calor de família, y camperización. Armamos mueble de cocina, cama, armario, piso, y portaequipaje ⚒️. Nos sentíamos listos para todo!

Desde aquel 2019 hasta comenzada la pandemia recorrimos litoral brasilero y venezolano 💫. Los invito a que me sigan para conocerlos también, en los próximos post ✒️.

Thanks to all the above, I relived the feeling that when you have a dream, there is no sense of waiting. We would always like to have things more planned or under control, as part of a system that prepares us to be efficient. However, the new paradigm is to live the uncertainty, to recognize that from every circumstance we can create our reality depending on where we put the focus, and that since you will not know what is behind every fear or limiting thought anyway, we can take care to trust everything that exists beyond our small humanity because there is a universe of possibilities... Gracias a todo lo relatado reviví la sensación de que cuando tienes un sueño, no hay sentido de espera. Siempre nos gustaría tener las cosas más planificadas o bajo control, como parte de un sistema que nos prepara para ser eficientes. Sin embargo el nuevo paradigma es vivir la incertidumbre, reconocer que de cada circunstancia podemos crear nuestra realidad según donde pongamos el foco, y que como de todas maneras no sabrás lo que hay detrás de cada miedo o pensamiento limitante podemos encargarnos de confiar en todo lo que existe mas allá de nuestra pequeña humanidad porque ahí si es un universo de posibilidades...
