This time I decided to rejoice because you are well, our life was something separate, even though you were not always by my side when I most wanted, at the time I decided to accept your decision.

My memories as a family are only from my childhood, approximately until I was 7 or 8 years old, after that there was only an occasional or chance meeting.

In spite of how bad or good your marriage with my mother would have been, she was always the one who made me know and understand that you were my father, therefore I had to have respect and love for you, even though the circumstances were what they were.

When I grew up she wanted me to continue attending every important event that came my way and although in many of them you were not present for unknown reasons I always let you know how much it meant, you missed my graduation from high school, my graduation from college, but that did not matter to me, I always wanted you to know that I, your daughter despite everything I wanted to get ahead.

You were present at the celebration of my 15th birthday, I prepared everything for it and I hoped you would not miss it, well, I rented you the suit you would wear, the shoes you were going to wear and although you did not have time to cut your hair, you were finally present to present to the world that your daughter was going from being a girl to be a lady, and with the pride that characterized me I danced the waltz with you all over the dance floor.

I remember that once you came to my work to tell me that you felt bad and did not know what to do, we had at that time so much time without seeing each other, I was impressed when you told me that you had a cerebrovascular disease, you were skinny and neglected, but how to forget that at that time you preferred to drink alcohol and not eat, I noticed that as a result of that disease you could not walk well and that the mobility of your hands was limited, sometimes you dropped things, however, I always kept in mind who you were, here I forgot the years of absence and I took you to different medical specialists to help you progress after that disease.

I remember at that moment to have spoken to you very strongly and to have given you an ultimatum telling you "that I was going to help you if you only left alcohol aside, since I did not want to waste my time in helping you and you giving your life to alcohol", your answer was positive, so much so that from that moment on you did not drink any more.

But there was still in you that basic disease, that while it was destroying your body, you were feeding it with alcohol and bad food, diabetes is like that, it silently takes over its victims.

I remember the desperate call you made to me, explaining that you had fractured a toe with a step, when I went to see you and you showed me what happened, I was sure that it was not so, and that diabetic people should take care of their feet and you did not do it.

I took you to clinics, hospitals, diabetic foot specialists, but nothing worked, from your foot, I went to your leg and they could not save it, then the complications were not long in coming, so much so that I had to admit you to a hospital so that they could do everything possible to save your life.

There were many people who visited you while you were hospitalized, I asked all of them how you were as a person, each one of them told me what a splendid person you were, the good friend, the good worker, the kind man, it was there where I understood that you were never bad, not all people know how to be everything, there are people who are not born to be doctors, engineers or lawyers, others are not born to be doctors, Some people are not born to be doctors, engineers or lawyers, others are not born to be mechanics or carpenters, but they are good in another area, you were not born to be a good husband, maybe it was not meant for you, you tried, but you did not make it, just like you tried to be a good father, I know, but you did not make it, I repeat I do not blame you, you were always in me and until the last minute I proved it.

Thank you for teaching me many things that you didn't even realize you did.

I apologize if at some point I should have been more attentive to you.

Thank you for giving me at the altar to the one who is now my husband and for loving the grandchildren you met.

You are celebrating a happy birthday in heaven, I am fine, because I know you are....

¡WOW!
