We live in a society that sees failures and mistakes in general as bad, and they are, but they also have their good side, because they teach us, and there is no way to learn without making mistakes from time to time. Making mistakes is not really the bad thing, but not learning from them.

However, society does not see this useful and natural aspect of mistakes, and sees those who make them as defective people, people who have something wrong. This puts pressure on us not to make mistakes, and leads us to exacerbate mistakes when we make them, giving more importance to the mistake itself and not to what it can teach us.

Another consequence of seeing mistakes as something bad and not as something natural, is the effect they have on us, since they really affect us and can even immobilize us. Instead of seeing them as the possibility of learning that allows us to improve, we see them as the end, as a sign that we are useless, and that we just wasted time.

If we stop giving such a negative connotation to mistakes, we can stop worrying so much about being infallible, about being perfect. What you can achieve, but only after having made many mistakes, and having learned from them.

So stop wanting to be perfect, that will only make you feel pressured, and embrace your mistakes for what they are, part of the way, part of learning to reach your goals. If you stop dramatizing your reaction every time you make a mistake, learn from your mistakes and move on, sooner or later you will reach your goals.

What others say is the least important, do not let their comments drag you down, you will see how they change when you reach the goal or fulfill your purposes. So stop worrying so much and enjoy the process, you will see that you will be happier.
