Dave Brubeck is old people Jazz. Like me, I like it :)

Lady Gaga (and Madonna for that matter) are much better heard than seen for me. You are right, I think she did at least as well as Bette Middler on 'A Star is Born'. That's saying something at my house.

Sorry that you had to go to work. I'll try to elevate my retirement game just a bit to make up for it :)

Not to be that guy, but I think it was Babs in the version with Kristofferson. I understand what you are saying though. I really never cared for Streisand, but you can't deny her ability. The same can be said with Madonna and Gaga. Besides the records, I don't mind being in to work. It helps me focus better :)

Aaaaccckkkk. I hate when I do that. You are, of course right. I got the Rose and a Star is Born somehow crossed. But the analogy lives on. Lady Gaga did a smashing job in the remake. It takes some guts to re sing a Streisand classic like that.

I see where your mistake was now and that is totally understandable. The Rose, good stuff!

Lady Gaga is very good and that is what is giving her the recognition. About three years ago or so, she was among the most influential women in the world .

I have been listening to wizard's first album. I don't know if you listen to young chaps like him

I can't say as though I do. In fact I don't believe I have ever heard of him. Looks like it might be metal is that right?

Just check him out. But you should know burna boy? He was busted for grammys

Hmm, nope that one doesn't ring a bell either.

You could check burna boy... if you have the time to..
Final one... How about brymo?
My number one recommendation is brymo. Check him out you will enjoy his music

I feel like I'm back in my youth. My kids never knew what a record was.

That's too bad. I love the sound and feel of vinyl. I learn more about them every day.

Have enjoyed listening to A-Ha on the odd occasion, not too often.

None of the disks today are ones I recognize (not in my collection). Would enjoy that jazz (going to google it), always enjoy a bit of jazz in blues or classical.

Taking ones mind off of things, music most definitely relaxes, seeing the old disks brings back nostalgia of days long gone.

They were some pretty obscure ones this time! I was just getting into some of my more off the wall stuff I think. I was looking to throw on some Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass next!

Aha were big and popular here in the 80's, and not just Take on Me. I was a big fan at the time, esp the debut album, Hunting High and Low. I did listen to Scoundrel Days but it wasn't as good.

I will have to keep my eye out for "Hunting High and Low". There is a local record shop near me and he has a pretty decent selection.
