Season four of BOID continues to chug along with some interesting developments.

The team has picked up at least two new members/miners and we hope to continue to grow that number through the end of the year and beyond.

As a team we are still holding strong in the top ten on the global leaderboard.

My personal BOID power has suffered lately and through a bit of research I have found there are a couple of reasons for that...

The first is the fact that the work units we are completing for Covid research are much more intensive than the Cancer Marker units we processed in the past. There has a been a drop across the board with all users BOID power.

In addition to that, we have found that Intel processors seem to handle the work units better than Ryzen processors. In the past my Threadripper that I had dedicated to BOID work units pulled in 1.5 to 2 times more BOID power than it is now.

I am currently investigating the possibility of running a NUC cluster for BOID mining/research. According to my research the processing power you get from a cluster setup is pretty significant in relation to the energy costs it requires. If my test is successful and it provides viable results, a larger cluster could be in the future for the EOSDetroit BOID team.
