reminiscing about days before the world lost it's mind...

Been sitting here on the couch for the last hour, chatting with Jude... reminiscing about all our local roundabout adventures that we are missing terribly! Jude is one of those kids that generally displays reluctance when mom says "babe we are going out for lunch" lol... but upon arrival, always has a super time and ends up admitting it afterward. We would always do our utmost to choose places that would afford both us as adults some pleasure time as well as enjoyment and entertainment for Jude so it would end up making a great day out for all!

Damn I miss it all so much! It really feels like an eternity since I got to go, well... anywhere lol. I am always moaned at because one of my fundamental criteria is "a view". I am of the opinion that if you are going to pay money to wine and dine, it should at the very least be at an establishment that has beautiful surroundings. Thankfully, Cape Town has no shortage of natural beauty!

I miss it all so much! Just a natural state of living...

Had a long night last night, so feeling a little depleted today and I thought I would cheer myself up with a little trip down memory lane of some of our awesome times out and about before the world lost it's mind!

Speaking of sanity...
one of the things I miss the most is OYSTERS!!!!

They have got to be one of my favourite starters...
especially at the markets,
because you get the real super sized GEMS!

Not to mention all the other amazing aspects of markets...

Second to oysters on my list of "must haves"
is without question - PRAWNS!!!!
This particular occasion was at a place called Cape to Cuba.

A place which I loved to frequent,
simply because the experience itself was always fantastical!
And considering that you are literally parked right against the railway line which looks right onto the ocean...
it never disappoints!

Cape Town would not be Cape Town without experiencing a trip to Cape Point! This is not a place we go to often, but it is always amazing when we do, because the views are simply jaw dropping!!!!

and on this visit, we treated ourselves to lunch at the
Two Oceans restaurant as well... you know, wine and views.. haha!

and of course, life is always better with a cheese board...

I am not much of a beach person,
when it comes to sun tanning etc...
but I do LOVE the beaches themselves,
taking a stroll on the beach
and also simply enjoying the power of the ocean!

As much as I love visiting the ocean,
I enjoy our "country" visits equally!

Looking back at all these pics...
sigh...

I hope our world finds it's sanity soon...

❤❤❤

Until next time...

Nice memories. They have to help... Particularly Oysters and Prawns. Not much wrong in the world that can't be rectified with oysters and prawns.

I'm on a jailbreak. I'm heading to Washington State on June 12th or 13th. It's going to be an unusual visit for me because it's quite focused and scheduled. But I'm going to go right buy Sequoia NP and Yosemite NP. There is a very slim chance that they will be open, even.

It's just out. That's what is really important for me. I really hope it won't be long until you get out. Maybe Mom could use some prawns?

It is a pity that many great restaurants will not survive the crisis. A piece of quality of life is lost. The wheat beer in one photo makes me thirsty

Oh dear @jaynie! Who would not miss all those beautiful stuffs?!? Good food, pleasant music, beautiful sceneries!!!

They are all beautiful. I love the ocean view. It's so refreshing! 😍

How are the restrictions going in there? Here, the government have lifted some of its restrictions so people are slowly moving around. But kids and seniors are not yet allowed to go out, 24/7. Sadly. 😭

Gosh you do some amazing post. The world does seem to be going madd doesnt it.

That all looks spectacular, @jaynie! So many wonderful memories. It will all come back again. We cannot live like this forever. I believe it will take time, but the good times will roll.

Love the pictures of food and drink, lovely views, fun times with people... boats and water and sky... travels to vineyards. MMMMmm! And the picture of Jude with his Spiderman face is just way too cute!

I can smell this post through my computer. All that amazing sea food! ahaha I've only had oysters once ever, which is surprising since I live in oyster country.

Also, is Cape Town possibly the most beautiful place in the world?

I never tried oysters... But your pics might convince me to! Very lovely photos!

So Glad I got to take this journey back with You. Memories are forever, and HD photos are like frosting on the Memory Cake.!

Oh seafood you joyous thing.... yes damn this year has surely been upside down - I feel so sorry for the restaurants and all the people loosing a lot of money, but I am sure eventually we will return to normal or semi normal again
