Saved

Into the midst of another pool,
plunged into the depths of loss.
Crossed wires and words and the silence of birds
Winter's deep arrived to replace the frost.
The winds howl at the moon long gone -
mourning the space it had been,
Fingers of invisible ice scraping skin
and to the bone they sliced.

**

In the vastness a speck of dust,
carried to where none want go,
though choice had been stripped by luck
the frayed threads of life laid bare.
Connections found and engagement made
relationship broken by word without act.
And to a man there was hope
Unceremoniously dashed upon rock.

**

Where is that line and when was it crossed
The signs were all but clear -
How did we get to this terrible place,
And why did you leave me here?
Weighted down by the past I sink
and the cold settles into my mind.
Staring toward the light above
Knowing it is all left behind.

a charming piece of poetry. Touching and thoughtprovoking. Just to my mood now. Right to the heart deep inside.
Where is that line and when was it crossed - powerful words...

Thank you for the comments. Not many people comment on the poetry, but I appreciate it a lot :)

because they never read it;)
you're the 2nd person whose poetry I've read here.
The 1st is @d-pend, maybe you know him? His poetry differs from yours much but it's very unique.
Now I've one more favourite poet in Hive;)

Some read, but don't know what they are meant to write. Maybe because they are somewhat personal, the discussion is harder to have or it requires speaking in a different way about things.

Yes, I know him. He is a far better poet than I! :D

Poetry is not really my thing. Still it is impressive how versatile are both you and @galenkp . at this point it would not be very surprising if you could also perform a heart surgery.

Yeah, that is not really my area, so I only do it when the hospital is very understaffed. ;D

I'm just the dumb older brother.

sorry, is your name Taraz? In Ukraine it's a classical name but TaraS, maybe your have Slavic roots?

Yes, it is a Cossack name, Taras Bulba I am guessing is the most famous. However, I don't have Slavic roots, my parents just liked strange names. It actually comes from a Persian root and means "ornament", though I don't have Persian background either :)

Weirdly, the only other Taraz/s I have met was a Finn - He had the "S" on the end.

if you come to Ukraine, you'll find much more Tarases in your life:)
Persian roots?? Never had an idea about it! Yes, Taras Bulba - a well-known guy;)

here parents also choose foreign names for their kids - exotic rules everywhere;) now in Russia real Russian names can be heard very seldom. Unfortunately, it's not only because of their wish to be unique (they are not, because all parents try to do the same;), but because they don't see anything nice in their own culture and traditions.
There is a proverb - it's always better somewhere far, not in your native place.

In Finland it is much the same where parents choose names that are "international but work in Finnish" and then there are heaps of kids with the same names, as there aren't many names as it is. I am Australian though, so there it can be a bit different considering there is a fair amount of diversity.

I have a couple Ukrainian friends but have never managed to make it there. If I do, we can do a meet up! :D

:) I'll be glad to see my Hive friends in real life
Though it's hard to catch me:)) living in the same city I lived in 3 countries already: USSR, Ukraine and now - Russia.
Unpredictable life;)

Sounds like a fun life.

I have only made it as far as St Petersburg several years ago, which I loved. Even got to dance some salsa with the locals, which makes travel all the more fun.

Dear @tarazkp, Are you feeling anxious about the future?

I'm sorry I couldn't give you nice English sentences like everyone else.😄

Not anxious about the future, as I have accepted the worst of it already.

😨

I play mental games to help me prepare for the worst case scenarios in life.

Dear @tarazkp , I think you have a balanced view of the world's light and darkness, happiness and misery.
As I read your fairy tale, I imagined Andersen's Little Mermaid.

Your fairy tales and poems are beautiful, but they weren't a happy ending crafted for children. It was like a fairy tale for adults.
Like Andersen's fairy tales, your works were often not happy endings.

You seemed like a strong person to accept even if your life wasn't necessarily a happy ending.
I think your life and emotions are definitely different from your elder brother!

From my point of view, you are a stronger person than your brother.
I wish you understand my poor English.
