ENGLISH

THE IMPOSTER

Aida made breakfast this time, she wanted to go back to that activity again. Her husband was attracted by the smell of coffee, and has been performing that routine for some time now. He greeted his wife with a kiss. A new habit. Aida could not be happier with this change.

Bernardo, her husband, had been under great stress for some time. He was blocked in his thoughts. She blamed others for her failures. She isolated herself with her vices of alcohol and cigarettes. He argued strongly with his wife while the children, hidden and afraid, watched.

Aida had sunk into anger and frustration. She squeezed her head with her hands, longing for the most fervent change. She thought of abandoning her life by taking her children, but something very strong and invisible reached her, looking at her with a glimmering attention as a reflection, and then, at that very moment, she fell in a faint.

Upon awakening, she saw that everything had changed. Her husband became different; he was more loving with her and her children. She never understood what happened but was happy about it. But, contemplating with horror from a mirror, the true Bernard was shouting and bawling, desperately warning his family about this impostor.
