The Three Important Life Elements - 'Hive Creative Contest'

in The LIFESTYLE LOUNGE4 years ago (edited)

Science has given us a tangible perspective towards our existence.. The simple answer to ‘Do I matter??’ Yes, you do!! But only if life were to follow the rules of science at all times.. The intangible areas of our minds, the unfathomable depth of our emotions, the terabytes of memories we hold in our neurons, everything is unexplored; just like the ocean floors of the earth..

Sometimes I wonder at the foolishness of man.. We call ourselves the greatest creation, the most intelligent of the lot; and yet the mysteries of the human mind remained unanswered; the depressed have no solutions; the most evolved minds are the loneliest.. Why has it taken forever for this species to know that the only religion we need is LOVE?? Sigh..

In the Stone ages, our protagonist, Sid, just realised that he is the leader of his clan, the Leodites.. His father had just lost his life fighting a jaguar.. The Leodites were a brave clan.. They were peaceful and knew the jungle very well.. Years of practice and losses of many lives taught them that the jungle is
merciless, and in order to survive they have to evolve into warriors for life..

Sid was well trained, but the sudden responsibility of his clan started to weigh down on his shoulders.. For the clan didn’t need a ruler, it wasn’t the modern times; they need an innovator, an engineer, a discoverer like the
previous rulers.. They had already discovered fire and metals.. They had discovered that man can swim, sing and dance. They knew to brew the perfect alcohol.. Sid knew there was nothing he could do new to make his name in history.. After months of counselling by his close confidantes, he realised
that he was going to go down in history as the man who never challenged the beliefs of the past..

For stone age man was more evolved than his present image.. He challenged, he questioned, he wanted proof; he wanted life to be easier.. For, all his life he lived on the principal of faith, hope and love..

FAITH that the forest Gods will protect him from the unknown; HOPE that he will have a good hunt tomorrow and feed his family better; LOVE for his clan who stood by him and believed in the same principles as him.. There was no conflict, no confusion, no war, no epidemic.. It was a perfect environment for growth.. And so Sid knew he had to challenge the norms.. If he couldn’t find something new, he had to make people believe he had..

Farida was the prettiest girl in the clan.. Everyone knew she was to marry Sid as soon as he was coronated as clan leader.. Sid loved the way she swayed when she walked.. He loved how the sweat glistened on her body when she would dance under the sun.. He was now only counting days before he could have her all to himself, as his regent.. Farida was strong and a warrior.. She loved to hunt
and carry her prized animals on her own.. Sometimes the weight of the game meat would cross a 100 kilos, but she wouldn’t allow anyone to touch it.. It would take her days to get back to camp because of the weight.. It's probably why she had a slight hunch in her back.. Yet she was most beautiful and most desirable..

That night Farida and Sid went hunting together to find game for the clan.. It would be a good week, they thought.. For a man who can feed his people is an amazing leader after all.. After days of hunting they found a herd of deer in the vicinity.. Sid and Farida shot their arrows with perfection and there.. 3 juicy deer shot down!!

This was enough to feed the clan for 2 days.. It was
time to take the spoils back to camp.. They tied up the deer individually so that it was easier to carry.. But as they tried to mount it on their backs, they realised that these were heavier than any of the ones they had shot before.. It was humanly impossible to carry them.. Farida suggested that they go further into the forest and hunt for smaller animals but Sid was reluctant/. He needed this win to prove his place as king..

Necessity is the mother of all invention; it’s true.. But desperation is the grandfather of all historic inventions!!

It began to rain heavily; Farida and Sid took shelter in a tree.. They climbed the tree and lay low for the night in the branches.. This way the night time predators would not sniff them up.. Little did Sid know that this night was going to change his life.. He saw a magnificent lioness walk into the area.. Farida was fast asleep on the branch.. Sid looked closely at this beautiful beast.. She sniffed around the dead deer below and went further.. The lioness wanted nothing to do with stale meat.. For she was royal and fresh meat was her style.. She went on her way.. Sid was awake for quite a while until his eyes began to droop.. Suddenly he heard a dragging sound.. He looked down to see the lioness
dragging a large antelope (larger than her body) on a log of thick wood.. He saw her moving the meat effortlessly through the forest, in quick steps.. Sid smiled and knew what he had just discovered..

Nobody had to know that the lions had already discovered the first wheel before the humans did.. Right??

The next morning, Sid and Farida tore down few trees and tied them with a few ropes and laid the 3 deer on the wood.. Sid then demonstrated to Farida how the logs of wood would turn as they pulled it further and move effortlessly along with them.. Farida was impressed and decided that she had made no mistake in choosing her partner.. For he had invented something no one had even thought
about.. They reached the village and everyone stared at them and the sorcery that came with them.. Sid introduced it to the village as ‘the wheel’.. From then on they made many more of these and took them hunting..

For the stone age man knew nothing about faith, hope and love, but he surely understood it better than us.. Sid’s clan had faith that he would do what was expected of him; Sid had hope that he would at least meet the bear minimum expectation; and the forest Gods had love for their innocence, for
they sent the lioness to show him how it’s done.. Although the first wheel was logs of wood and it would take years before Sid’s son would make it a compact circle.. But a small step is what it takes to go down in history..

What our people have forgotten is that faith, hope and love are important to make great discoveries.. And if you want to explore the unfathomable and the unseen, you have to venture out with these three elements; for the sake of SCIENCE 😊

This is my entry to participate in the contest conducted by @zord189.. Either select or choose a Story of Faith, Hope or Love or all the three elements..
