El arte forma parte inexorable de la cultura de un pueblo. Desde tiempos primitivos, el hombre se ha comunicado a través de pinturas rupestres, una genialidad de la cual se conservan evidencias. Me considero una artista en formación y, por ende, contemplar las obras artísticas me produce gran satisfacción, pues a través de su análisis continúo aprendiendo. El día de hoy les daré un recorrido por la Escuela de Artes de Cumaná. Un lugar destinado a la formación de niños, adolescentes y jóvenes en las áreas de dibujo, pintura y cerámica, para lograr tal objetivo se realizan cursos y talleres de lunes a viernes.

Art is an inexorable part of the culture of a people. Since primitive times, man has communicated through cave paintings, a genius of which evidence is still preserved. I consider myself an artist in training and, therefore, contemplating artistic works gives me great satisfaction, because through their analysis I continue to learn. Today I will give you a tour of the School of Arts of Cumaná. A place for the training of children, adolescents and young people in the areas of drawing, painting and ceramics, to achieve this goal, courses and workshops are held from Monday to Friday.

Este lugar cuenta con dos plantas, abajo tenemos la Galería de Arte “Julio Urbaneja”, esta sala ha cobijado a innumerables artistas, lo cual sirve de impulso y promoción para el arte en la ciudad. En este espacio también funciona la oficina del profesor Jesús Mora, director de la Escuela, y un salón destinado a la “Creatividad Infantil”. En la pared central podemos apreciar un gran mural, en las otras hallamos unas hermosas pinturas, las cuales da fe del talento que hay en el territorio cumanés, orgullo para todos los oriundos, pues el arte se vive y se siente.

This place has two floors, downstairs we have the Art Gallery "Julio Urbaneja", this room has sheltered countless artists, which serves as an impulse and promotion for art in the city. In this space also works the office of Professor Jesus Mora, director of the School, and a room for the "Children's Creativity". In the central wall we can appreciate a great mural, in the others we find some beautiful paintings, which gives faith of the talent that there is in the territory of Cuman, pride for all the natives, because the art is lived and felt.

Si nos adentramos en la estructura, nos conseguimos con unas escaleras que nos colocarán en el segundo piso. Allí nos recibirán varios bustos, los cuales están dispuestos en el piso en zonas estratégicas. En las paredes podemos observar varias pinturas, algunas son de estudiantes de niveles avanzados. En esta área se ubican varios salones de clases, en donde se atienden diferentes grupos. En el fondo está situado el Taller de Cerámica, en sus estantes hay varias muestras: vasijas, estatuillas, torsos humanos y cuadros que replican figuras de la época prehispánica. Por último, en el ala izquierda, tenemos otra oficina, la cual se encarga de asuntos administrativos.

If we go into the structure, we get some stairs that will place us on the second floor. There we will be greeted by several busts, which are arranged on the floor in strategic areas. On the walls we can see several paintings, some are of students of advanced levels. In this area are located several classrooms, where different groups are attended. In the back is located the Ceramics Workshop, in its shelves there are several samples: vessels, statuettes, human torsos and paintings that replicate figures of the pre-Hispanic era. Finally, in the left wing, we have another office, which is in charge of administrative matters.

Sin duda, Cumaná es una cuna de grandes artistas, en este suelo hay muchas personas talentosas, así lo hemos podido evidenciar a través de las diferentes actividades que se realizan, donde se observa el trabajo de estos. La Escuela de Artes es una institución muy importante para la difusión cultural, una misión loable para contribuir con el desarrollo social.

Undoubtedly, Cumaná is a cradle of great artists, in this soil there are many talented people, so we have been able to demonstrate through the different activities that are carried out, where the work of these is observed. The School of Arts is a very important institution for cultural diffusion, a praiseworthy mission to contribute to social development.
