The beauty

An arc of spectral colors, usually identified as red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet, that appears in the sky opposite the sun as a result of the refractive dispersion of sunlight in drops of rain or mist

A rainbow is a meteorological phenomenon that is caused by reflection, refraction and dispersion of light in water droplets resulting in a spectrum of light appearing in the sky. It takes the form of a multicoloured circular arc. Rainbows caused by sunlight always appear in the section of sky directly opposite the Sun.

Double Rainbow 🌈

After we went above a hill, there was a second rainbow beneath the first one.

Rainbows can be full circles. However, the observer normally sees only an arc formed by illuminated droplets above the ground,[1] and centered on a line from the Sun to the observer's eye.

In a primary rainbow, the arc shows red on the outer part and violet on the inner side. This rainbow is caused by light being refracted when entering a droplet of water, then reflected inside on the back of the droplet and refracted again when leaving it.

In a double rainbow, a second arc is seen outside the primary arc, and has the order of its colours reversed, with red on the inner side of the arc. This is caused by the light being reflected twice on the inside of the droplet before leaving it.

How does a rainbow „work“

Have a read at wikipedia.org where I love to learn. I found as well some facts at nationalgeographic.org

Have a lovely day…

….and why not let me know where you saw your last rainbow 🌈

While listen to Rainbow

Who play „Catch the Rainbow live in Munich“ way back in 1977 where people hat the time to listen to music …

Have a great day everybody
and let us travel the world again

My last rainbow was on Thursday and it was incredibly beautiful as the one you've seen. It was around Bragança, in the Northeast of Portugal :) Unfortunately, I could not stop the car to photograph...

yeah, we had luck to be to stop after we saw that beauty.

Greets dear @liliana.duarte

The explanation about the rainbow is excellent @detlev , which depends on the incidence of the sun's rays on the water droplets in the clouds. The degradation of the white color that is observed in his photographs is very beautiful. Successes in your publication

many thanks and greetz

Thank you very much for your visit and for always being in contact, I wish you much success.

Wow. It's beautiful 😍❤️.

The last rainbow I saw was a double. I haven't since any since then.

Thanks for sharing, sir ❣️

Wow how beautiful, a double rainbow. In the first photograph the colors can be fully appreciated, they look intense, and they combine very well with the vegetation, beautiful. In the last captures the double rainbow is perfect, what a beauty.
