Apocalypse wedding!

This could be a costly blog post for me. I have to be live on the Uplift podcast tomorrow at 8:00a.m. Its almost 2:00a.m. here now, and I got my second Pfizer shot this morning. I’m bracing for the down and out symptoms I’ve been warned about. So far, just feeling sleepy, but on top of a late night and early morning, I don’t know how camera ready I’ll be in less than six hours. I made some time to hang with @bryanpolitte at @caffetto. He and I have been making time to do that once a week or so and its been great for both of us.

I just finished another round of edits from the wedding I photographed in LA last November. The pandemic was at its height and I took plenty of shit from friends and family as I decided to drive to Los Angeles for the event. My friends/clients had postponed their special day three times, trying desperately to find a brief opening between quarantines and lock downs to actually have their wedding. I was surprised mid November was the date they finally landed on, but I wasn’t going to miss it.

The day was really special, and memorable. I’ve never considered myself a “wedding photographer”. I do a few a year with clients that I screen to make sure my style is what they want. Of the weddings I’ve done over the last 20 years, this was my favorite. The conditions the couple, their families, friends and planners had to endure were impossible. The had such a beautiful wedding, while still taking safety in to consideration for the guests. It was a long shot, but they pulled it off with such style and grace.

I have more to come from this wedding event in LA. I broke a record for frames shot in a single day during this event. Over 3,500 photos. I’m about half way through the edit list from the couple and as I get through more, I’ll share them here on Hive. The rest of this week looks busy. I have an announcement coming very, very soon for anyone and everyone that’s a fan of my photography. @eos.detroit work has been incredibly satisfying and overall, life is good. Thanks for reading! Good night!

Oooh, I wonder what the announcement is?! I am looking forward to it! These shots look like the turned out really well. I know this trip was a much needed respite for you. I am glad that they were able to have their special day and you were able to have a part in it!

He looks pretty.

Now that's quite an experience. You never know where will life take you! Great shots as well!

I wish you well to get over the vaccine shot.
I remember the only time I used to get sick was when I got vaccinated for influenza (on the job). The idea was that we won't book off sick. So I had to book off sick for a week thereafter every single time.
Now retired since 2005, I did not get any vaccinations, and I also never got sick (except once, in 2012). I don't even get a simple cold anymore.
I don't know what it is, but in a skit in German (Cabaret) the doctor tells the patient: "after carefully checking all your symptoms, my diagnosis is that you are an asshole, in the end stages" - Patient: "that is terrible, is there a cure" - Doctor: "unfortunately, there is no cure ..... but look on the bright side, you are immune!" - Patient: "Immune against what?" - Doctor: "Immune against everything!"
Should you understand German (Vienna dialect) then check this out: Weil ich a Oaschloch bin

This is a whole mood! Your lighting gets me every time!🥰
