Dried Mint as Tobacco Alternative

Yesterday I've been out in the fields to gather some more mint for drying.

It's a bit late already, the leafs start to decay, but I can still find a lot of fresh shoots growing out of the old plants :-)

I gathered a whole basket full of nice and sweet-smelling mints, which are now hanging from the ceiling of the kitchen and living room :-)

So we are gonna have more tasty mint tea for the winter, which I love drinking in the morning.

We also started to mix the dried mint with tobacco, to roll it in our cigarettes, which was the greatest idea!
It not only tastes very good, we also save a lot of money for tobacco, and it's probably a good idea anyway to smoke a bit less tobacco in general.

I would love to learn more about different tobacco substitutes. I know one can smoke a lot of different wild herbs, apart from the mint family.

But for now mint it is, and it's great, and we will probably just gather some more the next days, before winter is setting in :-)

Reminds me of the couple of times that I smoked a mentol cigarette. I actually stopped smoking half a life time ago ( my sensitive longs are struggling enough already without smoke ) but I still get why people smoke, in a way.

I like to think though that if us humans were a little better in breathing with awareness, smoking would be unnecessary and we would all be happier and healthier.

It's easier said than done though haha

It really does taste a bit like menthol cigarettes, but better :-)
I'm not quite ready to quit smoking, but there will be a time for that, I'm sure. Just not now ^^

You're probably right about the breathing. It's an important key to a more relaxed and happy life. I'm still terrible at breathing, always too tense, that's really something, I want to work on. But it's not that easy ^^

Dried mint used to be one of my favorites to smoke. I'd mix it with dried lavender too!

Ai, that's interesting! So dried lavender works, too. Good to know, I'm still looking for more wild herbs that we could smoke.
Thanks for the tip! :-)

I recently watched a YouTube video that said mint is good for the lungs. Good idea to mix with tobacco.

Yeih, cool! That's good to hear!
We haven't done any further research yet, we just felt, that it's a good idea. Unfortunately the season for picking mint is almost over.
