Turmeric-Ginger Traditional Beverage




Talk about traditional beverage, can't be far from Djamu. Last time I told about Djamu with the Tamarint Turmeric Recipe.

Bericara mengenai minuman tradisional, tidak jauh dari Djamu. Terakhir saya ceritakan tentang Djamu dengan Resep Kunyit Asam.


Tamarint Turmeric Djamu: One of Traditional Drink Of Indonesia


This time I want to share the beverage that I loved too. It's still from turmeric and another herbal plant, ginger.

Kali ini saya ingin berbagi minuman yang saya suka juga. Masih dari kunyit dan tumbuhan herbal lainnya, jahe.

Turmeric and ginger are plants that are widely grown in Indonesia. The two types of plants are often used as ingredients for herbal medicine.

Kunyit dan jahe merupakan tanaman yang banyak ditanam di Indonesia. Kedua jenis tumbuhan tersebut sering dijadikan bahan untuk masakan dan juga untuk jamu.

Turmeric and ginger can be consumed fresh, dried, or ground, and added to a variety of dishes. In fact, ginger and turmeric are available in stores in the form of supplements.

Kunyit dan jahe yang dapat dikonsumsi ketika masih segar, dikeringkan, atau ditumbuk, dan ditambahkan ke berbagai hidangan. Faktanya, jahe dan kunyit tersedia di toko-toko dalam bentuk suplemen.

It's very easy to make to. It's literally same way.

Sangat mudah untuk membuatnya. Ini benar-benar cara yang sama seperti yang kulakukan sebelumnya.

The Turmeric-Ginger Traditional Beverage

Ingredients


500 gram of turmeric
100 gram of ginger
2 pieces of palm sugar
600 ml water

500 gram kunyit
100 gram jahe
2 buah gula aren
600 ml air


How to Cook

Step 1

Wash all turmeric and ginger until clean. Then, scaring the turmeric.

Cuci semua kunyit dan jahe hingga bersih. Kemudian, parut kunyi hingga sarinya keluar.

I do recommended about scaring cause you can get the extract. If you can't do scaring, you can blend the turmeric.
Saya merekomendasikan tentang menakut-nakuti karena Anda bisa mendapatkan ekstraknya. Jika Anda tidak bisa melakukan scaring, Anda bisa memblender kunyit.
Saya merekomendasikan tentang memarutnya karena kalian bisa mendapatkan ekstraknya. Jika kalian tidak bisa memarutnya karena tidak memiliki alatnya, kalian bisa memblender kunyit.

Step 2

Turn the stove with the medium heat. Add the water on smooth turmeric then heat until boiled.
Nyalakan kompor dengan api sedang. Tambahkan air pada kunyit halus lalu panaskan hingga mendidih.

While waiting the water boiling, you can slice the ginger into small pieces like the picture below.
Sambil menunggu air mendidih, anda bisa mengiris jahe kecil-kecil seperti gambar di bawah ini.

Step 3

After the water boiled, turn off the stove. Then filter the turmeric dregs and set aside.

Setelah air mendidih, matikan kompor. Kemudian saring ampas kunyit dan sisihkan.

Step 4

Boil the ginger and palm sugar in 200 ml of water and wait until boiled.
Rebus jahe dan gula aren dalam 200 ml air dan tunggu hingga mendidih.

Now you can mix the turmeric and the ginger-palm sugar. Instead drink ice, I drink turmeric-ginger as first thing to break my fasting. It's very warm and healthy.
Sekarang Anda bisa mencampurkan kunyit dan gula aren jahe. Sebagai gantinya minum es, saya minum kunyit-jahe sebagai hal pertama untuk berbuka puasa. Ini sangat hangat dan sehat.

I want to stay strong even though I'm fasting.
Saya ingin tetap kuat meskipun saya sedang berpuasa.
