Samgyeopsal Pt.2

How far can your vacant period go?

It has been a dilemma for the group of us if we still have a vacant period before going home. So far, SM City Malls and Ayala Central Mall has always our favorite for window shopping, dance at the Quantum, drink a Coconut Shake, or just stay for a while to relax. But this time around, we wanted something new since the majority of the group was present.

Anyway, let's not forget that we are still students. I think we deserve to spoil ourselves after spending an exhausting week at school, but we also have to consider our budgets. They're not working students like me.

Peace to all of our wallets that will be emptied for the cravings of our tummies.

One of our friends suggested to eat here again, and since @breepickledoodle hasn't tried the dish yet, me and @blip-blop seconded the idea.

A Little Story Time Before The Meal

We got off from the jeepney beside 7/11 store to buy our drinks. The first thing that came into my mind as I heard the name of the store was to buy a Lemondou drink, just a can to satisfy my thirst of alcohol even just in a little percentage of it.

We walked and roam around the store to find the drinks we wanted. As they find the one they wanted and a bit excited too, they often wanted a selfie as a memoir but all of their excitement turned into an embarassment as they were scolded by the 7/11 employee. Taking pictures inside the store is prohibited! They all laughed at their mishaps and apologized to the employee.

Another encounter on my part, I was about to pay in the counter.

Cashier: How old are you, Miss? Just following the store protocol, we can't sell liquor to minors.

Me: Whutt? I'm 23! Do I look that young? And Sir, there is no minor student in college.

The cashier just looked down and laughed, then went on with his job. I should have taken off my School ID after school. While it also sound as a compliment for looking young, but it was also a bit insulting. Am I that small for my age? It just shows that they're not observant with their customers. My ID lanyard spells college in it. Lol.

We, the budget foodies!

The waiters set up the table as we pay. This is the same place where we had our Unli Samgyupsal With My Buddies, whereas it is only $3.63 per head and we can we eat all we can. They only have white raddish and Kimchi in their side dish, but I guess it's the fun and the bond with the people you're with that makes the food tastier whatever it is.

Hello there, @breepickldoodle! How was your first samgyeopsal experience?

With only one grilling pan, the food were not enough for a group of people. We decided to add another one and join the two tables, so we can all eat closer altogether. The wasn't that bad at all but it's the hot venue with no other ventilation since it is almost open. The oil from the pan were also sprinkling on our face and we have to stand away from the grilling pan while we eat.

When jokes were paired with the food, we already have forgotten the taste and any other issues with the cooking, but just focus on the fun of being together. We cooked lots of plates of pork because we were determined to eat the amount worth of what we have paid for. It was all fun, not until one of our friend complained that he wasn't feeling well again. Last time, he also felt this way after eating a bunch of pork strips and was diagnosed later on of having a high blood sugar. I think it's not from the amount of pork strips that hea had eaten but from the amount softdrinks he had taken that day.

All in all, being with them create the best of memories. It's also best that we ate a lot that afternoon because I don't have to eat a lot for dinner.

That's all for today's blog, folks! Thanks for reading all the way. All of the photos are mine unless stated otherwise.

Sort:

Pork is good.
Soft drink is bad

Both is bad if consumed too much. 😆 Thanks for dropping by.

Yes, but i think soda is way too harmful

😁
