Welcome Back to my Cooking Lab!

It's 2 AM and I am hungry. So, I decided to cook a simple shrimp scampi but without the parsley and white wine. Honestly, I really want to get white wine for cooking. I think that's gonna change my cooking game.

Shrimp Scampi is a simple dish that sounds fancy and looks fancy. If you want to impress a potential husband, partner, whatever, cook them this during your chill and netflix time. They'd probably be impressed and think you can cook.

In this recipe, I will also include the ingredients that are missing from the traditional scampi. That way you can create the ultimate best and yummy Shrimp Scampi.

Ingredients

  • 5 shrimps (you can use more. I don't want my mom wake up finding her shrimps are missing. So, 5 it is.)

  • grated lemon

  • 3 cloves garlic

  • Salt to taste

  • 100gr spaghetti

  • half lemon, squeeze

  • 1 tbsp white wine (not used in my cooking lab cause I don't have it)

  • chopped fresh parsley (I replace this with thyme. Sorry there's no store that opens 24/7 here. can't do a quick run to get parsley)

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Heat the skillet. Add 2 tbsp olive oil, 2 tbsp butter, the garlic, salt and the grated lemon. In another recipe, add white wine into the mixture. Wait until the water boils and but don't let the garlic burnt. Now add the shrimp and cook it for 5 minutes and flip it.

Take out the shrimp from the skillet. Add spaghetti into the skillet. Let it cook for 4 minutes with the remaining buttery and garlicky oil.

Sprinkle thyme on top of it and it's ready to be served. The original recipes are using parsley but I mentioned earlier why. So, let's just use thyme.

I swear, after learning about this, I regretted buying meal like this from restaurant. If I can make delicious spaghetti from home, why would I pay 4$ for it, right? learning how to cook this was sort of a rude awakening. I just need to gather some energy and make my own delicious pasta.

By the way, try this at home when you have a date over or anyone to impress. Pretty sure they'd love this and they'll be impressed!

what a beautiful pasta, I love it. I have only eaten it once and I was in love, the shrimps are excellent, and even more with the pasta, I think they make a perfect combination.

If you get the chance to find shrimp and pasta, try Shrimp Scampi with generous amount of garlic and lemon zest. Bet you'll love it.

Thanks for the advice ^^, I will try to take it into account. Cheers!

Mmm! You had me at seafood!🍤🍝😋

Looks darn delicious and even more impressive that you made this for a 2am meal! Nothing wrong with improving herbs that you have on hand. At $4 a serving it's is a steal!

Can't wait to see what you do with that white wine. Cheers! @macchiato🥂

Ah yeah, half sleepy I was chopping the garlic. 🤣 not sure why but these days I keep making food late night and often the best ones are made at around 1-2 AM.

This looks so good for a late night meal, really do love the recipe and the dishes coming from your cooking lab. I look forward to more late night recipe😘
